Not scoring enough goals.

Not getting enough points.

This just isn't good enough, is it?

No doubt some will be saying Norwich are a decent side but then so are most of the teams in the league. No doubt some will say we were unlucky and that on another day we might have scored 10, well unlucky sides don't make it into the Champions League.

So fucking frustrated today.
 
Yeah, I think Kenny's honeymoon has well and truly ended. He will have to start answering the questions. The lineup today was wrong and every substitution was wrong.

Downing was poor and should have been replaced by Andy with Kuyt going on the right.

Suarez missed a few but in fairness he did make the majority of them on his own. We've dropped 4 points in the last two games.

Gutted.

it was fine. it's the players missing chance after chance that did us today.
 
This isnt good enough for fourth. We're so poor infront of goal these days it fucking hurts. Lady luck has deserted us aswell.
 
I just don't see how we can get 4th if we continue to drop points that we simply shouldn't.

There are far too many games where we're 'unlucky'.
 
I think it was our unluckiest game of the season. You're absolutely right Keniget, unlucky teams don't get into the Champions League, but I really think we can be excused today for saying we were unlucky.

Side note. For me Suarez is the best attacking player we've had in a couple of decades. But that shouldn't stop him from staying on for a couple of hours after training every day and doing a ton of shooting practices. He's so, so good up until he has a shot. If he can get his shooting boots on we'll be laughing.
 
What worries me big time is our centre backs. None of them are dominant enough to be a Hyypia, and tonight we got put under so much pressure cause Norwich won EVERY header.

We really need a centre back in january.

I would have hoped Coates could be our dominant defender in the air.
 
Pushed in the back and having to stretch his upper sideways to connect, I dont think thst header is as easy as it looks.
If we had been 2-1 up you could bet your arse it would have gone in.

We said the same all summer and ended up buying potential . That's all well and good but how often has he played since ? . After some really poor seasons we really needed a decent one ...i'm starting to think we should have bought players for now and then next season or whatever go for potential . But i guess lots will disagree with me.
 
Another game where their keeper was their best player. We're creating the chances but we're not putting them away because we don't have a finisher. I want to see less of Kuyt, Downing and Adam and more of:

Reina, Kelly, Carra, Agger, Enrique, Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Bellamy, Suarez, Carroll.
 
I think we can match Newcastle and get into fourth.

We do need to convert more than 1 in 15 on target shots though.
 
Its been going on for a while now so the finishing part is asmuch a confidene thing as anything else. We're trying to hard.

Johnson and Kuyt were awful today, and needs dropping next week.
 
What about Spurs Jexy?

We need a quality finisher, I mentioned in the other thread that Suarez is all good turning and making chances etc but pretty much every time the keeper pulls off a save, seems he just needs to be more clinical.
Others like Adam, Downing and Kuyt need to get involved on the score sheet also but its not happening and we keep possession and have loads of the ball and bla bla but never put the game to bed only for our defence to let one in towards the end.

We need a clinical finisher in Jan

We are fucking wank and so many things dont work. We look fucking hopeless in front of goal. After spending 100m we look a worse side than last season.
Today alone
Kuyt doesnt seem to have a position.
Downing is what we knew he was. Not very good.
Enrique and Johnson were both shit.
Suarez is a cunt. I dont like him at all. And he doesnt score enough goals.
We put Carroll on after we took off our wingers.
Henderson isnt very good.

Then overall
We shouldnt have sold Meireles.
We shouldnt have loaned Aquilani
The theory being they wouldnt play enough games.....behind who? Henderson and Downing? Adam? PLEASE!!

My WHOLE contention that we would win the league this year was based on Maxi and Meireles movement and creativity. We took that out of our team and we look shite.
I think the Suarez thing is whats really tipping me over the edge. He is such a fucking bellend and i dont get all this 'Yeah but hes our bellend' well i tell you what I might buy into that if he was a halfway decent striker but he isnt, and playing his as a loan frontman is making me feel like fucking killing everyone I know.

Andy Carroll should have played today. Downing should have played on the left and Maxi on the right Suarez in behind with Adam and Gerrard. It was a perfect opportunity to show what we bought this unit for, what we spent this 100 million on designing. But no. Same fucking slow unambitious ponderous no scoring shite.

Agreed, Im a big Kuyt fan but he was shite today, wasn't great against United either. Needs benched.

Johnson, he's just brutal.

Although i still think downing can be useful for us
