Frankly, I think it's embarrassing the way our supporters are gloating at Utd's defeat. You're obsessed and are no better than The Bitter's fans.

I was thinking about this earlier. And thinking what a prick I am.

Cos its funny, I couldnt give a shit. I hate Madrid too, all Ive heard all this season from Utd fans is how they are gonna win everything in sight this season, how Vanpersie is the best player around, how the Spanish league is nowhere near as good as it used to be

hubris is a motherfucker

They will be back to rubbing our noses in it come May, enjoy it while you can

I think we've snagged a big one.

Man U fans trying to convince me that Nani wasn't expecting Arbeloa so he somehow was hurt as well.

Andy Townsend - 'Yes the foot was up, Yes it was a dangerous tackle......but I dont think it was a red card!'

LOL.

This discussion about intent is interesting. Take Shelvey's challenge against Evans for instance, at the time I said that it was a red card cause he caught Evans. But after hearing all this talk about intent, I see it differently. Shelvey intended to get the ball, he didn't know that Evans was gonna get there ahead of him.
So it shouldn't have been red then.

You can apply that to pretty much any dangerous play. How about when that Arsenal striker broke his foot, that defender didn't know that he had his foot there, he was going for the ball. Shouldn't have been red.

When Suarez got a penalty against Swansea recently, the defender went for the ball, he missed it and caught Suarez. Shouldn't have been a penalty. Wasn't his intent to catch Suarez.

Maybe I'm interpreting this wrong.

It's high time refs abandoned the pretense they're mind-readers and just concentrated on consequences. Hardly anyone deliberately handles the ball, but refs judge otherwise. Same goes for diving and fouls. Give something if the consequence merits it.

Intent is only relevant if there is no contact, if you lunge at another player and miss the intent was there to do harm and you should be punished regardless of the lack of contact

If contact is made, intent it totally irrelevant

For what its worth I think the ref got a lot of decisions wrong, Utd should have had a penalty for the keepers late punch on Vidic, and Rafael should have walked for deliberately handling the ball on the line. However the Nani one while harsh was justified

Oh fuck off. We can all watch the match and want them cunts to get beat. I went out to watch it and it's one of the best nights I've had in ages.

They got fucked over, it was never a red and they were comfortable. It changed the game. It's great knowing they got knocked out like that, I'm made up the fucking twats.
