8 - After the Boxing Day fixtures Liverpool were 10 points behind Man Utd; they have now cut the gap to two points. Charge.

9 - Only Fraser Forster (12) and Ben Foster (10) have kept more PL clean sheets than Simon Mignolet (9) this season. Rebooted.

Arsenal look certainties for top 3 looking at that.
It's wide open for 4th I'd have us favourites for it if we can beat United at home.

How teams compare to this point last season:
Chelsea: +3 pts
Man City: +2 pts
Arsenal: -8 pts
Man Utd: +5 pts
Southampton: +7 pts
Liverpool: -8 pts
Tottenham: -6 pts
Everton: -17 pts.

Mathematically yes, but thats not my point.
Not when you play the team above you. And we need to close the gap re the other teams around us to catch up.
We play City next weekend aswell.

Anyhow, we won so as you say we're all happy.

If United and Spurs had won, and we lost, we'd be further behind than if they drew or lost and we lost. It's quite simple really. If the teams above us lost every game to the end of the season, us winning would be less important, not more important.

I can't believe I have to explain this really.

"He has a dream job that we'd all love to have. I think every manager in the world would like the stability by being here year after year after year, to buy to sell and rebuild and wait and wait for success."
Mourinho on Wenger

Those two should just get a room.

Seriously?

That's a pathetic back handed compliment, 'and wait and wait for success'...

You can explain all you want, but you still fail to see my point. Lets just move on and enjoy the 3 points and an excellent footy weekend.

I have to say, Gerry would be mad to just move on. He really shouldn't rest until you understand, Hansern. I think deep down you know that and want it to happen. I'm not saying you're putting it on just because you're lonely and want some attention from another human. I'm also not wondering if you had confusing feelings about an old primary school teacher and you're just using Gerry to work through some issues. I expect a lot of other people are though.

Haha! Cant believe you figured out the old primary school teacher bit. My point had nothing to do with the maths bit, just for the record. I agree with Gerry there.
