Odd. Had high hopes. He's a very classy player. He will do well back at Dortmund again where he earned rave reviews.
Thats a shame... never really got to see the best of him really... good luck to him.
Anfield was never the right place for him. Bild claimed that he had been "betrayed" by Brendan Rodgers regarding promises about which position he would play, while Steven Gerrard was said to be jealous of the Turk. Mediocre players like Jonjo Shelvey were picked ahead of him.
"The talent Sahin possesses was clear to see on rare occasions but the misuse of the 24-year-old coupled with suggestions that his signing might have been the work of the club's former director of communications, Jen Chang, make this latest development understandable."
I think that's exactly the problem there. I think we saw his best.
Klopp and his system tend to get the best out of players with some talent but not exactly world beaters. Their style of play makes players like Şahin, Barrios or Kagawa look better than they really are. As soon as these players start to believe the hype around them and to think they are world class players it starts to go tits up. They leave for clubs like Real Madrid or us or the mancs and realize they are mediocre at best in these teams.
I know I beat the Lewandowski drum for quite a while but I came to think he's the next to fail at some big club.
It seems there's a lot of speculation about why the loan didn't work out and some crazy theories flying round (signed by Chang, lazy, shit etc)
The simple truth is there is 2 deep midfield positions available (Şahin's preferred position) and 1 advanced available. The days of Gerrard playing behind the striker seem to be over and after a slow start he has been excelling as one of the 2 (more assists than anyone else in Europe bar Iniesta/Messi apparently). That leaves one position next to Gerrard or the advanced midfielder role, which means Şahin was competing with Allen and Lucas for that position, and Henderson and Shelvey for the spot behind the striker. Allen knows Rodger's system so was always going to be favourite. With Lucas out injured it is not a surprise that we saw Gerrard and Allen with Şahin ahead of them earlier in the season. The fact Şahin hardly played last year and was trying to reach match fitness in a faster league did not help his cause, neither did being played further up the pitch than he would have liked. Factor in the broken nose and it just wasn't meant to be.
Nothing more sinister than that.

I think we were trying to get rid of Henderson last summer but it looks like that has changed now.Well, then why did we sign him? We knew we'd have Allen, and we would have expected Lucas to be fit. If we knew that, we would have known Şahin wouldn't play. I think it's because he was lazy.
Everyone save Rogers believes this is the way to go.One could ask why the fuck Rodgers has decided that Gerrard's best position is no longer his best position. He should have been playing behind Suarez like he used to play behind the traitorous Spaniard all season long.
