Sadio Mane

Well exactly, he's steadily been improving in every regard, but he's never had an end product issue. That critisicm is much fairer on a player like Coutinho or in the past Firmino.

Mane has outscored Firmino every season apart from last season, and has only 10 less goals in total (so far) despite being at Liverpool one season less.

As for his goal tally vs Coutinho, he's currently one goal behind him, after less than three seasons vs six for Coutinho. Admittedly Coutinho did play in a slightly different position, but Mane's output vs both players is streets ahead.

He's been a ridiculously good signing and is a better player than Firmino or Coutinho.

I think there's been some valid accusations about inconsistency with Mane, but few players are consistently great, and while he can seem a bit "streaky" with his goals, that's probably true of most attackers.

What I love, and have always loved about Mane, is that even on those occasions when he's not as deadly with his passing or finishing, his raw pace, aggression and single-minded attacking approach is genuinely frightening for the opposition.

He causes outright panic and chaos. When he doesn't play, we miss him so badly.

We have to start winning trophies, ideally one of the 2 we are in for this season if we want to keep hold of Salah and Mane. We cannot moan about players moving to other big European clubs if we are not winning trophies and currently we are not, not since 2012 in fact.

That's in their hands. We've got the meanest defense in the PL. But Salah especially has to start showing up in the big games. If we don't win trophies, it's because we're not scoring goals, because our defense are really doing well.

Love Salah, but you're not a worldy if you keep going missing in the big games.

He scored 44 goals last season and is only one goal behind the top scorer this season.

There are certainly games where you can say "what happened?" and yeah, his record against the top teams this season is woeful, but he hammered all of them last year, scoring vital goals against City, Roma, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, so to try and label him some sort of "flat track bully" is risible

Exactly, claiming Mane has end product issues is just nonsense, he's top quality.

It's a bit of a silly statement from Hansern, but there's a point in there.

Salzberg to Southampton, massive step up in league quality, and wages.
Southampton to Liverpool, massive step up in team quality, trophy potential, and wages.
Liverpool to Madrid, sidewards step in team quality, step down in league quality, step up in trophy potential, maybe step up in wages.

There's clearly some appeal, but it's nothing like the transfers before it, and arguably, in some facets its a step down / sidewards.
We have won one trophy in a decade. Thats the league cup, the one no one cares about.
Its over a decade since we won the FA cup. Over a decade since we won a European trophy, and thirty years since we won a league title.
In the decade since we last won the FA cup Madrid have won 4 league titles, 3 domestic cups and been crowned champions of Europe 4 times and champions of the world 3 times....

Reminder....weve won 1 carling cup.

Every player we have would be stepping up massively going to Madrid. They would be competing for (and winning the bit we miss) major honours every year.

Mad MAD argument here Hans and Mystic.

How dare you suggest the Milk/Littlewoods/Coca-Cola/Rumbelows/Worthingtons/Carling/Capital One/Carabao Cup isn't the pinnacle of footballing achievement.

This is spot on, and I was in my post trying to express the difference between missing Salah or Mane in the side. When Mane is missing I think we definitely feel it more.

Salah just needs to get used to the fact that he is gonna get marked more and if there is an improvement he can make this season to score but be selfish at the same time then it is putting more power and accuracy in those frequent shots he keeps doing now...no more hit and hope from him. He will definitely score and we all know that.

We are going to have to accept it guys ... Sadio Mane is not from Senegal ... he is the Black Panther from the land of Wakanda.

Come on..you know its true you lovely slags.

Yep. I also think that Mane has represented the type of mindset that I admire in a player. He has always been one of the very few who never look overawed or frightened by the magnitude of the game or the occasion. Muh-fugger just goes to work and plays his game with a lot of confidence and aggression. Love that approach.

100 million and Isco / asensio sounds about about right for mane (if he does want to go).

Not picking on this individual post particularly but it is soooooo annoying when people propose 'swaps' that involve cash plus players going the other way. I recognize that it DOES happen but so rarely and even less for us. Owen for cash + Nunez is the last I can think of, even if there are more examples it is just so PS4/xbox and not real world

Not to mention the fact, no matter how many times in a game he fucks it up, he will still look for the ball again straight away and back himself.

His self confidence is amazing. Others shrink and hide when they are having a bad game. Mane stays front and centre regardless.

Such a winning mentality.

You missed his point clearly.
