Sadio Mane

Ha ha do you know nothing about Mane?

He came from nothing and has gone on strike at both clubs that tried to stop a bigger team coming in for him.

He’ll 100% strike and be off if they come knocking.

Hopefully they won’t want him but I won’t be surprised if he goes at all.

Are Real a bigger team then us right now?

He's on £200k, challenging for both Premier League and Champions League, playing in the best league in the world. The situations are hardly comparable.

It's a bit of a silly statement from Hansern, but there's a point in there.

Salzberg to Southampton, massive step up in league quality, and wages.
Southampton to Liverpool, massive step up in team quality, trophy potential, and wages.
Liverpool to Madrid, sidewards step in team quality, step down in league quality, step up in trophy potential, maybe step up in wages.

There's clearly some appeal, but it's nothing like the transfers before it, and arguably, in some facets its a step down / sidewards.

Its not a silly statement, as I get the sponsorships, global revenue yada yada. Dont start acting like this is a Dreamy moment. Hear me out first.
I'm talking about team quality and where they are with and without Cristiano Ronaldo.

If Real had made a move last season I would have definitely said he's off. But this season Real look like they are in a mess, need to reshape the whole team and has lost a bit of that global appeal without Cristiano Ronaldo.

The probability of winning trophies is higher at Real given their wankfest league but I'm more confident we can hold on to him given the state Real are in now, then previous seasons. Thats all I'm saying. The appeal for going to Real now might not be that big given how we are progressing.

And as Mystic is saying. The step from Salzburg and Soton to us is a much bigger one regardless.

I think I've accepted the fact that for most footballers Madrid, Barca are the pinnacle, especially for those not from round these parts. Any South American it's defo true and likely for majority of African also.

They won the CL last season, this season they're a mess but even then they're 2 points behind 2nd, got their most successful manager back and have a transfer kitty that's reported to be more than £300m. So next season, with 3 or 4 astute signings they'll be challenging again.

Why do people keep saying the Spanish league is a poor league? Spanish Teams have dominated both European cups

A 300m kitty won't go far if you're eyeing up the likes of Hazard, M'bappe and Mane.

Thats my point. Their spending power isnt what it used to be, and the squad is ageing.
Hazard will go there, but I doubt they’ll be able to get both...

They won the CL last season but that was with Ronaldo. Without him they’re an ordinary side that got bummed by Ajax.

Anyone who doesn't think the guy would leave for Real in the blink of an eye hasn't been paying attention to football for the past eleventy hundred years. If they come calling he'll be gone. Fuck it, since Torres I couldn't care less about any of them. Help win us something and he'll be remembered fondly, but that's about it. South American or African kids growing up in poverty don't dream of playing for us. They dream of playing for Real or Barca. that's been proven time and time again.

The problem will be, can they afford him? How much would we be asking for Mane? £140m? That's half of their kitty that's meant to overhaul an ageing squad.

I hope they get Mmmbop for a ridiculous fee and Hazard, that'd probably wipe them out for the summer

Cant see any chance of Chelsea selling Hazard, with a transfer ban in place they cant spend the money so whats the point.

Signed a new contract and is currently one of the best players in the league. 200 mill.
£200m minimum and none of this £60m down payment, £30m after 200 league starts, £70m after winning the ballon dor. Up front dickheads.

Liverpool slap colossal fee on Mane as second suitor joins Real in race

Liverpool have reported responded to claims that Real Madrid are planning to launch a bid to sign Sadio Mane by sticking a huge transfer fee on the Senegalese forward’s head.
Mane’s form for Liverpool this season has been nothing short of sensational and the Senegalese star has taken his game on to another level recently, having plundered an impressive 11 goals in his last 11 games – putting him joint-second, alongside teammate Mohamed Salah, in the race for the Premier League golden boot.

Mane had emerged as a target for Zinedine Zidane last year, with one report going as far to suggest the former Southampton star had even given a verbal agreement on a move to the Bernabeu.
However, Zidane’s departure shortly after steering Real to a third successive Champions League triumph saw their interest cool, with his replacement Julien Lopetegui prioritising other positions instead.
But Zidane’s return to the Bernabeu dugout has seen Mane’s name linked once again with a move to the LaLiga giants.
According to France Football, Zidane has put forward Mane’s name as one of three prime targets to sign this summer, with the coach urging Real president Florentino Perez to do whatever is required to prise the forward away from Liverpool.
Furthermore, Don Balon also claims that Barcelona are keen to sign the player, claiming that Lionel Messi is a huge fan of Mane’s talents and sees him as a perfect foil in their attack.
And with interest from both Barca and Real unlikely to go away any time soon, the Spanish outlet claims Liverpool have responded to the speculation by slapping a massive fee on Mane’s head, reportedly informing suitors they will demand a fee of €150m (£136.2m) if they want to secure his services.
They do, however, make clear that Liverpool have no interest in cashing in on the 26-year-old forward, who signed a new deal with the Merseysiders earlier in the season.
However, any approach for him would see the Reds demand a fee similar to the £142million that brought Philippe Coutinho to Barca from Liverpool in January 2018.

Mane addressed speculation linking him with Real earlier this year, when he said: “Speculation is part of football. You just learn to live with it and not to take it too seriously.
“All I can say is that my only concern is Liverpool. Mo, Bobby…it seemed like everyone was signing contracts and they were saying: ‘Hey Sadio, when are you going to sign?’. I said to each of them: ‘Don’t worry bro, I will sign’.
“And what did I do? I signed, so they are pleased now!
“I can’t wait to lift a trophy with Liverpool. I know the fans are desperate for us to win the Premier League.
“It would be an amazing moment for the club. It has been far too long for a team the size of Liverpool.
“We believe we are heading in the right direction, but there are some very tough rivals – City were unbelievable last season and very strong again – but why not?
