we should have won the last game, but a blatant foul on Mane where a) he's being too honest, should have gone talk from the Media and b) VAR couldn't see it because it was in the middle of a shit break was missed.

Agree on Jonathan Wilson's book. A great read on the history of football tactics.

Can also recommend Michael Cox's The Mixer for tactics in the premiership for the last 30 years.

It does seem absurd to me how formations go in and out of fashion.Just play the best system based on the players you have its that simple. And having studied quite a lot on this, it does sort of feel to me like 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 offer the best overall balance.
