Some day he will find his Newcastle or Everton, a mid level team that is willing to indulge his inefficiency in exchange for moments of brilliance, and become their captain.

He works hard and he passes well in the middle. When he gets to the final third it's like there is a mental block there; he doesn't know what to do. He touches the ball, swivels abit, look up, touches the ball again, pressure comes, he passes back. It's just not great.

How good is Konate? He did a great impression of VVD last night the way he read the game, was there attacking the ball a step ahead of his man everytime and then pinging the ball around effortlessly.

He's another quality find. Remember when Ross said he would never be able to play and be available consistently because of that injury and subsequent surgery?

Ross said that about VVD as well… It’s OK, by law of averages he is bound to be right about something at some point.

BTW has Konate edged ahead of Matip in the pecking order in recent weeks? It’s starting to look like he might have - the selections in the last 2 games of the season will either confirm or deny this theory.
