Pre Match Pre Match - Brentford (A) - Sat 15:00

Elliot & Chiesa were great at the end. Shame that they were bench warming at the end against Forest.
he realised his mistake.
But again, what did Salah do to warrant staying on?

Btw, has Salah ever scored a game winner for us, like a last minute goal to win us a game? I can't remember one. At least not an important one.

Maybe I have selective memory. Can't remember one.

If you asked me right now to give you an example of a game winner, my first thought would be Villa away Mane 2-1.

4 this season alone

50 in the PL based on this

I honestly don't remember any of them vividly 🤣

I don't think he's scored Neil Mellor-esque goals for us.
I think Mané has more.
Origi definitely has more.

For context I'm not saying they're better, I'm just saying that I can't remember Salah scoring last minute goals for us.

Fede getting 3 mins was an absolute joke.

Arne, WTF.

Also Arne, great game changing subs....thanks for winning the game for us, you top don.

But seriously, give Fede some more fucking minutes.

Salah is usually efficient enough to score comfortably within the game, or he doesn't.

This isn't a critique

I personally feel Origi gave more "limbs" moments

I THINK he scored a scrappy last minute winner against Spurs in the 2019 title race? Think it was him.

Tbf there aren't really that many last minute winners to go round, are there? A few a season? Origi and Nunez seem to have a special knack, could be cos they've been subs and are fresher.

I think Mane scored a winner against Everton too. Was it the one where Sturridge hit he post?

I think you misunderstood, I'm talking last 5 minutes or an added time winner.
Also, penalties don't count.
By that logic nor has Chiesa for us let alone played any mins but we hoped he would come on.
There as always a chance Mo may do something so hence why managers leave their best strikers on.

Yeah loved that one.

The point is even most strikers only get one or two across like 5 seasons. It's a low enough number that you could easily have zero just by chance without it really saying anything about the player's underlying propensity to get them.

Thats why the ones who do get them tend to be more beloved cult heros than consistent performers. Usually its fresher legs coming on and making an impact

Well obviously that's why he's still on the pitch but the sample size is quite large with Salah.

But still Gerrard is the one with most last minute winners for us.

TBF 17 years as being the only player worth a damn in our team. Plus, "Stevie Me". He always tried, even the games when other options were better, he went for it

Like, that west ham final goal. That had every right in the world to be a keita-esque balloon, especially with all the cramp he had. But it wasn't, so jobs a goodun

One of the most iconic was the one against Saints with the Hendo / Robbo accidental hug afterwards
I love that goal for so many reasons... One my favourite Klopp goals
Context, the timing, he had gone like 8-9 games before then without a goal and we needed the pts desperately chasing the City machine.
We had come back from 1-0 down and needed a winner.
Salah carries I think the ball quiet a long from the break and had a lot of time to do something with it, it was all about that moment.

Watched the post match conference and Thomas Frank was very complimentary about us.
Called us the best team in the world and even said that we're levels above City and Arsenal.

I think that he's boyhood fan. It's not the first time he's said nice things about us.

I remember a SKY segment when he was asked if he could name all Danish players who have played for LFC. He got everyone except Torben Piechnik and was a bit annoyed that he forgot.

He did also say this:

Thomas Frank on the Premier League title race: "Liverpool haven't had a dip yet and that will most likely come, and Arsenal are picking up points when they're not fully firing. It will go right to the end." (BBC)

Which turned out to be 100% true
