It’s the return of the dead rubber.

Keita and Gomez will get 45 each. I’m not fussed on the rest of the team. Just no first teamers please.

It’s a shame Milner is banned.

Kelleher
Williams
Gomez/Matip
Konate
Tsimikas
Morton
Chamberlain
Keita/?
Minimino
Origi
?

Gordon isn't in the CL squad. Who knows what will happen. I think Klopp will play a stronger side than many expect. The paymasters at FSG must be satisfied.

I'd go for something like this

---------------------Kelleher------------------------------------
----Neco-----Konate-----Gomez------Tsimikas--------
---------------Morton----------Keita------------------------
---------------------Chamberlain--------------
--------Taki---------Origi----------Jota------------

Does the whole "if they're under a certain age they don't need to be registered to play in CL team" thing still exist?

Did it ever?

Or have I just totally imagined that?

Yes, but apparently they must have also been with the club for two years, or some permutation thereof. Hence, no Gordon

Kelleher
Neco Gomez Phillips Konate Kostas
Ox Morton Keita
Minamino Div

never going to be anything like that of course

Its even more uninteresting than that:

UEFA rules dictate a club can select a 'List A' squad of up to 25 players, of which at least eight are what the governing body regard as being locally trained.

UEFA rules dictate a club can select a 'List A' squad of up to 25 players, of which at least eight are what the governing body regard as being locally trained.

Clubs are also entitled to register an unlimited number of players on 'List B' during the season, with players eligible if born on or after January 1 2000 and having been eligible to play for the club for any uninterrupted period of two years since their 15th birthday.

A player is also eligible if they have been with the club for a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one one-year loan period to a club from the same association, while players aged 16 may also be submitted if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years without interruption.

Gordon does not meet any of the 'List B' criteria having only arrived at Liverpool from Derby County early this year.

And having not been included in the 'List A' squad by the Reds, the 17-year-old is therefore unable to feature this week.

Would like to see Kelleher get some minutes tbh

Kweev
Neco Baresi Konate Tsimikas
Keita Morton Thiago
Salah Minamino Origi

Would start Thiago cos he needs to keep playing to reach top form, imo. And Salah just wants to score some more

Morton and Bradley played 90 minutes in the U23 game today, I guess they are not going to be involved. A bit disappointing considering how well Morton has done vs Porto, to be honest I don't understand it.

I'd actually be very disappointed if Morton doesn't start ... never mind just get minutes !

Oh, never mind, my bad – that U23 game was played on December 3rd, but they just posted the video of it today. Morton should be fine for Milan.

Weird game this, it's no dead rubber for Milan and they always talk about players picking up injuries by pulling out of tackles.

So we need our players to go for it and hope nobody ends up with an exploded knee.

The only minor positive about playing Hendo & Thiago is that you'd hope we can actually control possession making it lower effort.
