Shaq was the replacement purchase for Fekir isn't it? We would not buy both of them. So are we saying after seeing Shaq play we still want Fekir? I think Shaq has been a bright spot this season. A good purchase with all things considered.

Bobby has been the most disappointing for me so far. But he has been asked to play in a number of roles so who knows if that screwed with his head/performance a little.

Fab looks like he will come good. Keita looks nothing like the player at Salzburg. Let's hope they both come good by 2019 and we make a good push for top spot in the championship.
We're going to get relegated ?!

Never mind Salzburg it's Leipzig where was destroying all and sundry. A young player doesn't lose that, however it does seem to me that Klopp isn't giving him the freedom, hopefully he can adapt because it's not like in the BL he was attackingly awesome and defensively shite, he had some great stats for ball winning and tackling too.

I would say it's a weird turnaround however the fact remains he's only been given a few minutes here and there and the odd start. Klopp needs to give him match time - and the next three matches are perfect (however it doesn't sound like Klopp is going to start both Fabs and Keita - he intimated).

Why would anyone want or expect Klopp to start both Fabinho and Keita in the Derby?

Fekir would have been nice to have in light of Firmino's recent poor form – but I don't think he would have solved the problem in midfield. He's more of a crafty technical wizard and finisher than an Oxlade-Chamberlain or someone like that who can provide dynamism and connection between midfield and the attack. Klopp actually needs either Ox or Lallana of 2 years ago – someone who can lead the press in midfield, create and contribute with key goals.

We seem to be leaderless in attack, players are trying various things and sometimes it works and sometimes doesn't, but nobody seems to set the tempo and the style of play in the same way Van Dijk sets the tone at the back. Lallana and Ox were never our best players, but they led by example and made teammates around them better. With the possible exception of Milner (who can't play every game), for all their great qualities none of our current first-choice attackers seem capable of that.

Fekir would be a nice option as a 10 or false 9. Better direct competition for Firmino - who I think is being figured out a bit.

Keita is the one who needs to settle to drive the midfield press and creativity.

While we miss Coutinho, he was also one of the most frustrating players I have ever seen play for us. Really should be solvable, but not solved yet.

I think Klopp did everything he possibly could to make sure Keita is well integrated into the team. The pre-season was perfect, then in the first couple of games all the pundits said that Keita looked like he's been playing in Liverpool forever; he was clearly very well-drilled about all our tactics and movements. But instead of getting more and more comfortable, he started to withdraw and gradually became a passenger – and I can only attribute it to psychology: whether it adjusting to playing with teammates who are as talented as him (whereas at Salzburg and Leipzig he was the undisputed top dog), higher intensity of the league or just not quite integrating into the collective. It's frustrating, but there is no choice but to wait until the player figures out whatever issues that are holding him back; once again I don't think Klopp could have done any more to help him integrate.

Fuck Firminio for this - he has been shit in most games.

TAA - Gomez - VVD - Robertson

Milner - Gini - Keita

Shaq ---- Salah ---- Mane

Some creativity and urgency from midfield is what we need in this game.

He's been excellent (Shaqiri), but the difference I guess is that Fekir might have given us more of an option in the front three, whereas Shaqiri has bolstered the attacking side of the midfield. I don't think it was an either/or in that sense. We probably would have got both had we had the chance.

Anyway, I'm going with:

----------------Allison-------------------
TAA-----Gomez--VVD---Robertson
-----------------Fabinho-----------------
---------Shaqiri-------Milner-----------
-Salah--------Sturridge------Mane--

Yeah, that's it, maybe Gini in for Fabinho is the only decision.
