  • I'm starting to think Coutinho won't make it - it's that or his head has been turned by Neymar/Barca talk. Not smart enough on the ball.
  • I wish we had a RB that could attack like Magic, and defend like Clyne.
  • New goalie in Jan PLEASE.

Controversial...but Klopp's laugh and stupid grin is beginning to piss me off. He can do it after a win.

Didn't we think it would be a draw? So no surprise. Coutinho plays better with Sturridge. To play the way klopp wantswill take time but we do look harder to beat. We need a central midfielder that glues everything together, like Alonso did.

It's too early to have expected a real turnaround, especially given the number of players out. But it is definitely frustrating to see the same mistakes over and over - Groundhog Day, every game.

Soon as we scored I was worried about a prompt reply

Then stop posting when we've scored.

It was more soft indie than heavy metal football.
Luckily Southampton didn't show more ambition or we'd have lost.
Massively underwhelmed.

There seems to be an identifiable spine at least, which is encouraging. Sakho is emerging as someone who could possibly anchor a competent defense, and there's a dedicated DM. Moreno's defending also looks better.

That really has to be Klopp's major focus.

The goals will come once Benteke, Firmino and Sturridge are fully fit. Coutinho's play will improve a lot once these guys come back too. Think Klopp needs to start indulging Ibe a bit as well and build up his confidence again.

^^man knows his shit

Improvement but this side is so desperatly short on confidence it hurts.

Again we concede a soft goal from a set piece. Klopp will have to fix that.
Better after the introduction of Firmino and Benteke.
They'll start vs Chelsea.

Lallana was poor and Origi just isnt ready yet.
We also need Coutinho to get going.

Klopp can grin all he likes for me. He at least tells it like it is.

Much better in the second half, as in the Rubin match Benteke and Firmino made a difference. Shame Benteke's goal wasn't a match winner, it deserved it. Sturridges eventual return should add goal threat needed.

I thought we were decent defensively, a defender on the back post might have kept them out. Up front we lack width in my opinion, significantly the goal came from Milners cross from the side and I think he should start in that position.

Lallana was not poor. Coutinho was poor.

Jexy: definitely agree we lack width up front. It's all very well to ask fullbacks to overlap, but not (IMO anyway) to rely on that as your main source of attacking width rather than as a useful extra. Not sure Milner has the pace to play out there consistently though, and he defo won't want to.

I was commenting on what we've got, which isn't a lot. Moreno, ibe and Milner are the only wide players we have who can cross a ball even half competently.

Do we really think we should be thinking about what we'll be like when Sturridge comes back, or are we reaching a stage where we should just consider him a perma-crock and not factor him into plans?

Difficult not to feel that way. Imagine Daniels frustration. Its his career disappearing on the treatment table.

This is where you have to think ahead. Comments similar to yours started with Rodgers then it rolled into "Out by Christmas"
I think I gave Rodgers longer than most on here. I hope Klopp is here for years because that will mean we're achieving something. I'm just saying I find the laughter a little mis-placed at this time. It's really no big deal, just an observation.
