We would have lost at Stamford Bridge last season if it wasn't for Sturridge's super strike and we needed penalties to beat them in the super cup.
We play them again after Napoli and this time around we have to win imo. I don't think this year's Chelsea team is better than last season's.

They are young and have no fear. But their defence is weak. It’s a big big game for us

[article]Joelinton is a much better defender than VD.

Perhaps put in a bid in January?

The other games thread on the fume is pure gold. The keepers taking bribes conspiracy is in full flow. There is also this gem.

We will do well to keep them out other end, those kids are well up for it. But they will continue to concede bucket loads. High scoring game, maybe 3-3 or somefink.

It’s not just the Chelsea game - these next 7 league games will define our season.

We have Chelsea & Utd away and Spurs, Leicester & City at home.

In between all that Sheffield Utd & Villa away.

So, thats the only 2 games we didn’t win at home and 2 of the 5 games we drew away last season, plus a top 6 game with Spurs.

21 points on offer - anything more than 13 means we’re tracking up on last season - so maintaining last season’s results and taking additional points from these games is critical.

Right now - with City having potential defensive issues, Utd shit, Chelsea & Leicester bedding in new ideas & Managers - this next period is critical to how our season could pan out.

I shouldn't have done it but I did anyway...we finish the season like this:
AWAY at Arsenal
HOME against Chelsea
AWAY Newcastle.

I really, really hope we have the title sown up before or after that Arsenal game because I can really see SKY, BBC, BT-sports doing a "redemption" segment or whatever before the Chelsea game with Mourinho in the studio, gloating about who he cost us the title. Gerrard slipping, etc. etc.

One guy got really lucky with his comment:

Not all about crosses and assist TAA !

Walker will be back to no. 1 RB soon

That was of course before Walker played 😀😀

A Man Utd fan supporting Liverpool, against Newcastle. Will not watch "boring Man United" until Pogba leaves.
I'm left flabbergasted by his reaction

It is not a forum meltdown, but more a real life meltdown. I met up With some Manc U supporters for the evening (Norwhich - City) game on sat eve. Their dissapointment of City loosing was real entertaining. The grasped every straw available and one of them put some big money on a draw at 3-1 to Norwich. Beautiful!!

Everton are slowly coming to terms with a never-ending cycle of mediocrity disguised as hope followed by crushing disappointment:

"I wish I was a goth or some computer nerd who hates sports . The misery outweighs the satisfaction by about 95% .
Yet as the weekend gets closer I always convince myself things are on the up.

Koff Everton, koff life"

One could almost feel sorry for them.

Almost. :vamp:

I only read one thread, but there was also an impressive amount of foresight from some of the more seasoned Bitters, who knew only too well the horrible certainty of Everton optimism - it never lasts long and is soon replaced with despair.

Classic "It's the hope that kills you" posts along the lines of "I feel sorry for some of our younger fans, but this is exactly the sort of game we will lose"

Everton has an ok start to the season. 2-1-2 on the games they have played. 7 Points after 5 games. Don't think they should expect more. They can of course improve and they need to find better form if to cement their Place on top 6-8, but being 3 Points behind City after 5 games is not bad from them. The real beauty is of course that Our form put them into shadows whatever they do.

Fuck me sideways. Blue Moon has a thread about Italian TV personality racially abusing Lukaku by saying the only way to stop him is to feed him maybe 10 banans to eat. And one of the lunatics on their forum answer With this post:

"Awful comment ffs, what the fcuk is wrong with people.
In saying that, bet Mr Passirani wishes he worked for Sky and played for Liverpool.
[bcolor=transparent] Few weeks off air and then welcomed back with open arms would have been his punishment," [/bcolor]

What does it take for them to not think about Liverpool 24/7?

Never going to happen. They're the new boyfriend permanently scared that the still-around ex will steal his GF back. Especially as it's actually happening. 😎

Yeah it isn't bad, but the best team they've played thus far this season is a pretty jaded Wolves. Every other team is bottom half, with a couple of potential relegation battlers. They're playing at just about par for the "Everton cup", or seventh place as it is more commonly known.

Yeah, they have had an easy program. Quite bizarr when you have to choose between being optimistic being only 3 Points behind 2nd placed City and being pesimstic being only 3 Points ahead of a Newcastle at the relegation line.

Not really. They havent played a decent team yet.

Palace, Watford, Villa, Wolves, Bournemouth. Not exactly a tough start for a team who've spent a shitload in the past 3 years.

Yeah, that is real relegation fodder the lot of them. Schocking poor start from Everton.
