In an interview yesterday, Fowler - who broke into the Liverpool first team at the age of 17 - questioned the decision to loan out Andy Carroll without having a definite replacement, but dismissed suggestions that the Reds were in 'crisis', and called for Adam Morgan to be given a chance. He said:
"Adam Morgan is a fantastic little player. He's there or threabouts now, and he's getting into the squad regularly.
"Rodgers is certainly doing the right thing bringing in the young players, and he has the bottle to play them.
"We haven't signed another striker so he [Morgan] has got to be given a chance".

I don't think Rodgers would be a party to that. If he didn't/doesn't think Del Piero can contribute on the pitch, the deal wouldn't/won't go through.
you could be right but 1-2M is nothing as we have recently spent 35M on a player to appease the fans. therefore i think if he only costs 1-2M it wont be enough for appeasment

Does anyone really believe we were going to take a player on big wages who is 38 next week? Never likely. We've got what we've got, you never know Yesil or Assaidi might actually be good. Borini might score some goals. Morgan might transfer from U18 to 1sr team well, Suarez might actually start taking more chances, Gerrard might find some form.
Whatever, we are how we are till Jan. Might as well get used to it.

Depends how big those wages would have been. If it's true that the Sydney deal will pay him $2 mill.a year, that's chickenfeed.
I'm actually optimistic about us in the longer term and I'm hopeful we'll start seeing real improvements well before the end of this season, but we are very lightweight meanwhile with bugger all to fall back on.
