Who will be our new Left Back?

Except we didn’t when it actually fucking mattered and fell horribly away because they were all fucked.
The only team that truly competed for the whole season was Arsenal.

And a good proption of the Arsenal squad put in more minutes than our squad.

You’re equating poor form with tiredness - they’re different things, or maybe you’re about to soil yourself in public again and argue that our “second best ever striker force” was actually “run into the ground” - which is interesting because they apparently weren’t the problem.

The only player who I thought looked tired at any point was Endo, which is fair enough. Everyone else just went completely off form. Except mo, who's output actually matched his form, as opposed to the rest of the season when he was shite but still scoring.

I’d mostly agree with that - Endo’s an odd one, but I guess at his age it proves the point that we need an additional DM because he hasn’t got the legs to run about in every game.

How do you explain their poor form? Confidence? Coincidence? Over achieving to begin with?

Mixture of things - injury disrupting their training routines, rotation disrupting getting into their playing rhythm, confidence, mentality, bad luck, training, skillset - there’ll be commonality of reasons but different factors for each player.

Take Salah, you can factor in age, disappointment at AFCON, injury, recovery while fasting, frustration… it’s all fine margins.

No player maintains excellent form throughout a season. Unfortunately all ours peaked and dipped at the same. Except for the boy, who seemed to be the only one capable during the last month or so

I do think we need a new LB ... someone at the same or higher level than Robbo. Tsimikas simply isn't good enough I'm afraid.

I don't want to get rid of Robbo. But we absolutely need to be trying to buy a replacement that pushes him to the bench. Let him rise to the challenge and keep his spot for another 1-2 years or be succeeded.

Good player, better suited as a wingback given how good he is going forward. Only concern is the number of injuries.

According to SPortrac he's on a surprising low wage (for EPL!) - less thank £10k/week

Excellent player and still only 23. We've been interested before and Edwards clearly rates him. 40-45 mill I reckon.

A tall, quick, and skilful Arab player with good teamwork, Premier League experience, no bad character reports, and a full head of hair and beard? Yes please

So if he was a baldie, you wouldn’t be interested? Anti-baldist you are!

I’d love Ait Nouri here. I saw him put in a defensive masterclass against us when i went to the Molineux two seasons ago.

We need someone who we can trust to start, but also rotate somewhat with Robbo who i think will respond well to legitimate competition

I love Robbo but he's 30 years old and playing in a high energy position. Your body isn't suddenly going to find those reserves or new pace. Same debate as Mo's.

I'd love Ait Nouri with Robbo as HIS backup.

yes id want Ait Nouri to be trusted as a starter as we go into a defensive rebuild. Him + Robbo would be a great pair in the squad for that side, allowing Beck or others more time to develop on loan.

I’d feel very confident about the future of our defence if we have Bradley, Quansah & Ait Nouri all in it.
