Japan are currently beating Spain 1-0, 40 minutes in. De Gea looks satisfyingly shite, and the spanish defence is a bit of a shambles
 
Spain now down to ten men, Martinez sent off. Nagai for Japan is causing good problems
 
Really, should have let the quick free kick to stand. WOuld have been a nice deserved goal
 
Yeah he doesn't seem the best like. The Red Card was harsh but ever so slightly understandable, a yellow would have been much fairer
 
Tbf, the Japanese deserve their lead, could have had at least one more goal.

I'd have preferred the ref to give the goal than send the player off, poor decision.

I'd completely agree. A 2 goal cushion would be nice for Japan.
 
Heard somebody on the radio a week or so back talking about seeing a Japanese kids team playing, think he may have been from a premier league academy. Anyway, he was saying that these kids were all exceptional and wouldn't be surprised if they were to win a world cup within the next 15 years.
 
Japan always seem to have a couple of technicallyvery good players, but peak ages never seem to overlap to make a good squad

Perhaps with the growing popularity of the sport, their time might be coming

Well, the front pages and news channels will be dominated by the win over here in Japan tomorrow.
Could have had 4 or 5 goals against 10 man Spain. Bloody wasteful. Happy nonetheless!
