New Years day games

Yeah it was a smash and grab from Spurs on the counter.
Great result.
The Merseyside Derby is going to be massive in a few weeks.

Once again some weird decisions from Sherwood. The two subs he made just gave Utd the edge even more.
They were extremely lucky to hang on. Always great to see Utd lose.

Utd have now gotten 4 bookings for diving. The rest of the Premier League have gotten 9.
Moyes calling the refereeing scandalous about not giving a penalty and sending Lloris off. The worst he's seen.
Will the FA charge him?

Webb really has his mind set on a transfer to Chelsea now.

It's so competitive at the top now. Losing those 2 back to back has allowed Everton and Spurs within a sniff.

Really highlights the importance of being able to pick up points in every game.

Both Spurs and Everton will probably lose away to Chelsea aswell

I don't want to get into a 4th place scrap with utd, Everton and spurs. Need city, chavs or arsenal to start slipping up a bit.

Can't see city or chelsea slipping at all. Our only chance is if arsenal do their normal explosion in feb/march time. We'll get 3rd at best this season but i reckon its more likely 4th.

Poor the Rooney...

Its ridiculous that Webb refereed this game after his appalling display last week. It's either his bosses dont care or think he got all his decisions right. Either way, its shocking.

Not that I am complaining.

It's not like the others have been better - e.g. Atkinson, Mason etc.
The level of refereeing is really shocking.

You would think that after Webb's high profile mistakes he would be relegated to a lower division game or a lower profile game. But then again; he's England's best so his bosses can't shoot themselves in the foot by punishing their top ref.

Webb really has his mind set on a transfer to Chelsea now.

The accusations that Webb was ever biased towards Utd were facile & childish, and this necromancer has shown that as a lie, so everyone should grow up & stop being so emotive with conspiracy theories.

It was never the team, but the bully drunken tramp, that he owed allegiance to, and now the soiled one has moved on the Portuguese twat is the obvious replacement for his affections

This loan is looking like a good move. He gets minutes, he scores some and shows he can play a bit in this league. If he comes back, he'll have had more minutes in the league under his belt and hopefully can contribute more to our cause next season. If he isn't retained, at least his showing would hopefully have raised some interest and we recoup most or all of the transfer fees.

agree, although in light of Moses, makes you wonder whether he would have done more has we kept him and not gone for Moses?

We're benefiting with hind sight though. Before Moses arrived, I think many guys thought he'd do well, and he seemed to meet expectations when he debuted with a goal. Then the bottom fell through as we saw him miss sitter after sitter and get lazier and lazier. On the other hand, if you look at the Stoke forum link Modo posted, you'll sense that their fans were still criticizing Assaidi just a while back but have now just started to change their minds about him.

I'm just happy he's getting into the stride of things right now. I say we keep him there for the rest of the season. When Sturridge returns, I expect us to revert to two up front with Coutinho behind them and 3 CMs most of the time, so minutes will be limited again for the guys who play as wide forwards.

Good thing the Man Utd board didn't think this.
