Yes, as he has done for God knows how many times with either players we're buying or selling. It means nothing really.

Well it was pretty emphatic. Not surprised to be honest, the agent sounds like a real piece of work and was out of order.

Don't be fooled by his lack of goals this season, he and Hamsik carried this Napoli team throughout the season. When either of them were injured the team really suffered.

I think he's a gem in the making. Lightning pace, can operate anywhere offensively and can create something on his own. I really think he would be a perfect player for us, can only improve aswell.
Would you spend £20m on him though?
I only ever watched him on these very low quality youtube clips, but from what I've seen he is looking very promising. He likes to go at people (like Babel does) but is far more skillful and has far better conrtol than Babel.
However, splashing 20m on him would be a huge gamble. Rafa might be putting his Anfield future on the line with this lad if he splashes such a large chunk of our transfer budget on him (assuming it's 20m and assuming we don't have much more than that to spend). If it doesn't work out Rafa may find himself out of this club by the end of this season.
Can we give them Babel + some cash (5-8m)? I think this might be a good deal for us (again - I've only seen him in these clips...). Will they take Lucas and give us that Hamsik lad? 😉
This is probably the best clip i've seen of him. Certainly looks creative,be usefull against the tight defences at home.

From his you tube stuff he looks like a Milan Baros clone with slightly better touch. There's one of him diving head first into the advertising boards, the loon. I think it's all been a ruse by his agent to get more dosh as he just isn't that great.

The first 3 clips just show him getting tackled and falling over, which he seems to do a lot of. No wonder his agent is desperate and shouting from the rooftops.

Definitely the best clip i've seen. He looked like Ronaldo (R9) in some of that (taking on the whole defence and almost getting through). What i liked most was how defenders were bouncing off him when he was in top gear (he's VERY quick for someone who had weight problems). Oh and a Marseille roulette always demonstrates a bit of imagination/skill. I'm a little more excited than I was before I watched it. For 15-7m, I think he's worth the gamble (although that's the premium rate these days for someone of his age/talent/potential)

Are any of the big Italian clubs in for him ? Surely that'd be most indicative of whether the lad is actually any good?

judgeing him based on youtubeclips is hilarious though. He falls over in the clip, God he's shite.

I can't believe you've come out with that after you basically called him crap for being tackled in a clip and falling over.

Each of the last two seasons he's got 8 assists without taking set peices to achieve this, think the top provided in premiership got 11? He also got fouled over 100 times a season, would be useful if we could become more affective from free kicks.

he Reds are not keen on 'El Pocho', according to the former Valencia boss...

8 Jun 2009 15:26:23

Liverpool have reportedly been chasing the signature of Napoli star Ezequiel Lavezzi, but Rafa Benitez has quashed the speculation, stating that the Premier League side do not want to add the ex-San Lorenzo star to their squad.

"We never contacted Lavezzi and we have no intention of doing so. We want to put a stop to these rumours," the Spanish tactician claimed to the English press, according to tuttomercatoweb.

One of Lavezzi's representatives, Eduardo Rossetto, had recently made statements to the contrary, indicating the the Reds were extremely interested in signing the Partenopei forward.

The Argentine international has been an influential figure and fan favourite at the Stadio San Paolo for the last two seasons, but has become unsettled after what he claims is "a lack of respect" from the Serie A outfit.

Press reports from the peninsula suggest that AC Milan, Juventus, and Manchester City are also in the running for the 24-year-old.

For us mere mortals who'd never even heard of him before his agent started blabbing off in the press, you tube is all we've got, and lets face it he looks like a chicken with no head and spends a lot of time on the deck.

And yet you want to spend upwards of 20 million on him?

Its the fact that you think he's crap from what you saw in that clip which is confusing me, and the reason given more so. Majority of the time he forces his way through, he's got very low centre of gravity making him harder to knock over than most players, only watched him live at Olympics rest have been eurosport/setanta highlights of games

I didn't say he was crap. I'm unable to make an informed judgement yet without seeing him in a Red shirt. I just find it laughable that he's already getting the internet seal of approval despite never being on the radar until his agent started making noises to higher his non existant profile in England.

I'd find it more believable if people just said pay the money because I'm desperate to sign someone.

I highley doubt that this transfer rumour will go away regardless. Rafas comment will keep the price lower and not start a bidding war.
Rafa could well be interested.

And David Byrne, I've watched him in 5-6 games this season. I've always liked him, but havent advocated his signing because other positions have been more pressing. Regardless, the lad is quality.

Lavezzi is a year younger than Tevez, is a better finisher than him and is more creative than him. He's quality. Top top quality. Has the same attitude and style as Tevez but he's more skillful and a better finisher. He's like a cross between Tevez and Zarate. Sign, sign, sign!!!

Lavezzi has started 1 game for Argentina, Tevez has 50 Argentinian Caps.
Lavezzi has scored 15 goals in the last two seasons, Tevez has 34 in that time despite starting less games.

Hahahaha! What tripe you just posted!

You can't argue in all i've posted above. When i say more creative, more skilful and a better finisher, i am right. You just have to admit that you know fuck all about anything.

First of all let us look at Tevez record. If you count ONLY Premiership games( just to be fair to Lavezzi), Tevez only scored 19 goals for the past two seasons.

Tevez record - Scored 19 goals, 10 assists, number of shots- 78 shots. Started 49 games( Premiership only over two seasons). So his shots on goal to his scoring ratio is 0.24.

Lavezzi record - Scored 15 goals, 16 assists, number of shots - 56 shots. Started 64 games. (Serie A only over two seasons). Shots on goal to his scoring ratio is 0.27.

So based on those stats above, Lavezzi is more prolific striker than Tevez is. His has less number of shots but managed to have better scoring ratio.

For a septic like you it could be something complicated to understand but it is understandable. Comeback when you have something worthwhile to say.
