I was refuting the previous claim by the Count that Rafa hadn't really told a great big porky when h pretended he thought Keano would still be a Liverpool player in February...
[/quote]

Sorry mate.
Did you see the interview that I paraphrased Rafa? I would be surprised if many believed that Robbie Keane would remain a liverpool player because of what Rafa had said.
If you want to go back to the relevent thread and prove me wrong I can live with that as I am not bothered enough about it to do so.
Either way we wont fall out.

Jack D Rips believed he was staying.

Not many others did though.

FWIW it's hard to tell if we've been in contact or not but one thing's for sure Rafa doesn't sound too happy about the player and his agent's antics. If this move was ever a possibility I'd say it's been put on the long finger now.

This one refuses to go away...

The agent of Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi maintains that Liverpool have lodged a bid for the Argentina international.

Alejandro Mazzoni, the 24-year-old's representative, claimed last week that the Reds had approached the Serie A outfit with an offer believed to be in the region of £12million.

But Anfield boss Rafa Benitez and Napoli general director Pierpaolo Marino have denied any transfer activity regarding Lavezzi, who is also rumoured to be a target of new Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Mazzoni, though, is adamant that there has been contact, saying: "Pierpaolo Marino continues to lie.

"I reiterate that a Fifa agent presented Napoli with an offer from Liverpool for Lavezzi.

"This was a formal procedure as the player cannot be contacted directly (by the interested club) because he is under contract with Napoli."

Lavezzi, who scored seven league goals last season, joined Napoli in the summer of 2007 and is contracted until June 2012.

He's younger Ken.

I'll stick my neck out and say if we sign him, I think he'll be a success.

Cunt - yes. Talented - yes.

He's seems exactly the sort of talented cunt United usually sign.

Yeah, just checked and he's almost a year younger... my mistake.

I don't know much about him other than he's highly rated at Napoli. I was just commenting on what the player himself said.

Liverpool make offer for Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi claims player's agent
Ezequiel Lavezzi, the highly rated Argentinian Napoli striker is the subject of a formal offer from Liverpool, according to the player's agent.

Liverpool make offer for Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi claims player's agent

Pierpaolo Marino, the general director of the Serie A club, said this week that Napoli, despite interest from a number of top European clubs both in England and on the continent, had yet to receive any offers for their most saleable asset.

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez, too, has dismissed rumours that he is close to taking the player to Anfield as he looks for a strike partner for Fernando Torres to push on Liverpool's title challenge next season.

However, those claims have been contradicted by Lavezzi's agent, Alejandro Mazzoni, in no uncertain terms.

"Pierpaolo Marino continues to lie," said Mazzoni. "I reiterate that a Fifa agent presented Napoli with an offer from Liverpool for Lavezzi.

"This was a formal procedure as the player cannot be contacted directly (by the interested club) because he is under contract with Napoli."

Lavezzi has been linked with a move away from Napoli this month following a dispute with his club over a contract extension.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Naples-based outfit in the summer of 2007, scored seven league goals this season as Napoli briefly challenged at the top of the division before fading away later on.

Lavezzi is under contract with Napoli until June 2012 though it is expected that he will be sold this summer.

I agree, Tevez is also already adapted to the premiership but will we make him our 'big transfer' this summer? City will offer over 20million so Tevez could end up costing close to 25million if we intend on signing him.

Lavezzi is younger and probably will move on for half the price but seem he could be twice the trouble. Not gone on his supposed poor attitude, but 12 million could prove to be a good deal. It will interesting to see if United move for him to replace Tevez.

I admit, may be i have watched half a game and a couple of you tube clips....but i like what i have seen so far. He runs at defenders with skill and pace.

Currently we have Yossi as our best bet in that department, and Ryan Babel a distant second. This guy could be useful for us.

Could really complement Gerrard and Torres.

Barclays Premier LeagueItaly Serie A
Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has launched a scathing attack on striker Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The 24-year-old Argentina international has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks and, despite Rafa Benitez denying any interest in the player, his agent has done little to calm the speculation.

He claimed this week that Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marino was lying when he denied receiving an offer for the striker, and both player and agent continue to suggest the club have failed to honour an agreement that he would receive a payrise at the end of the season.

De Laurentiis has now spoken out strongly against Lavezzi’s actions and, after the club finished 12th in Serie A this season, he has told the former Estudiantes man that his performances and behaviour do not warrant any reward.

“Mr Lavezzi cannot say anything. Neither can his agents,†he said in Corriere dello Sport.

“Taking into account the fact that he had just arrived from South America, he received a considerable amount when he joined, and that amount was increased after six or seven months.

“People can always ask for increases, but I don’t see it like that.

“Marino told me that this is the way it is in football, but it is not that way here, not in Naples.

“For one thing, we are happy to be generous when we are getting a good return, but those performances weren’t there.

“I ask myself: are you an athlete or not? If you’re an athlete, you don’t go drinking at night and you don’t visit prostitutes.

“When you play for a team, you defend the colours of the city and, if you get drunk and visit prostitutes, you are betraying the people of that city.
“That said, given that we are talking about a young boy, you need the staff to show them how to behave.

“Anyway, returning to the issue of his contract, he signed it – it is a contract between two parties and both parties must comply with it.

“If he continues to dig his heels in, he won’t play. He could be ruining his career.

“Everyone has their sense of dignity and their own mindset. I have mine.â€

De Laurentiis has played down suggestions Marino misled the player about his chances of earning a pay increase.

“I have every trust in Marino,†he said.

“Maybe he said something like, ‘We will see’ – people often do.

“We probably would have given him what he wanted if we’d done well in the league, but that’s not how it turned out.â€

De Laurentiis has also reiterated that there has still been no offer and, even if one did come in, he has suggested that he would be happy to force the player to remain in the reserves.

He added: “There was never any official offer.

“If a crazy bid came in then clearly we would listen because everything has its price but, for the sake of my principles, I would be able to do without the €25 millin (£21.3m).â€

If he comes what is the betting that he ends up rooming with Dani Agger 😉

Surprised at that. By reputation I always though that Andy was alright!!!!!!!

But in the interest of fair play.
Ive found an article about the shitcunt from an old 4-4-2, and heres a few quotes.
'in Naples no one bats an eye as the headlines keep coming LAVEZZI THE GREATEST IN 20 YEARS LAVEZZI JUST LIKE MARADONA'

'His impact is incredible, El Pocho has made the locals fall in love with his style'

'for every 10 shirts we sell, 7 are Lavezzi, i havnt sold as many shirts since maradona, i sold 4000 on this stall alone'

'critics.....i think we should kill them all'

Ramon Diaz 'he has everything, character, technique, his all round play is good, he tracks back, he shoots with both feet and isnt selfish'

'in argentina he scored 25 goals in 98, in italy he finished his first season with 11 in 40. This season his stats are better, but they dont tell you everything about him, sometimes he seems to drag the whole team forward, hes a potential golden ball winner' Ciro Ferrara

'but he is not a striker, he is a second forward whos specialty is the assist, even using his chest as he did twice last season. His performances proved vital im victories over lazio and Milan prompting a new wave of shirts'

'a recent stat pointed out that he was responsible for 70% of all the games Napoli won'

'He makes Napoli fans stand up and applaud, he is a simple man and a unique footballer with a very special charisma' Pierpaolo Marino
