Ezequiel Lavezzi

He is/was good, but:

1. 29 years old
2. Doesn't have stamina to last a full match apparently
3. Doesn't score much for a player of his talent, not a calm finisher

For £18M mooted in the papers, we can do better, I think.

like who? i havent really seen lavezzi but its getting to that stage where i want a player in who'd improve our options before its too late

He seems to have regressed a bit at PSG from his Napoli days.
18 mill is way to much.

He's tended to impress me when I've seen him. Has that bit of flair our attack perhaps now lacks. I think he'd be a good signing for £15-18m, although I'd like another striker as well.

Always liked Lavezzi a lot when I saw him at Napolli.

He worked hard, made right decisions, had good first touch, and was fully committed. Haven't seen him a couple of years, though. If he's not lasting 90 minutes in France then he won't work in England.

I think he'd possibly be a stopgap option for about under 8M or something but anything approaching 20M is utterly absurd and can't have any truth to it.

Either way, I wouldn't be looking to sign this guy. There are enough players out there that would be better for us.

First time I watched him was in the WC.

5 min after he came on I knew Argentina was not going to win the WC, not with strikers like that...

(almost wrong phew)

On the other hand, I think it was against Belgium, when the manager took him off (he was playing wide left or right), and they immediately lost all their threat.

But yeah, 29 years old + 18m + high wages - doesn't make sense for us to do this deal and I don't think we're doing it. Probably his agent or PSG's agent just trying to move him.
