Anyone know how serious the link is between Arsenal and Ribery?
I can't see Arsene allowing him to muscle in on his turf.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish wants Wigans Colombian star Hugo Rodallega but will have to pay £9million to get him.

Dalglish is keen to bring in the powerful attacker to give Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez some top-class support as the Kop aim to get back on the glory trail this season.

Rodallega has impressed Dalglish in the past couple of years, often dazzling against the Anfield side in games, and he thinks the South American would be a huge asset.

Dalglish is looking to move out David Ngog and Milan Jovanovic as he improves the quality of his options and he knows Suarez and Carroll will pick up injuries because of their all-action styles.

So Dalglish wants Rodallega to fill that gap and hopes Wigan will be sensible with the fee as the 25-year-old is going into the last season of his contract and can go for nothing next summer.

Wigan supremo Dave Whelan values Rodallega in the £9m class, similar to winger Charles NZogbia who is also in the same contract position and boss Roberto Martinez isbacking him.

Martinez needs to sell before he can buy any {replacements.

He wants Paraguayan striker Nelson Valdez at relegated Spanish side Hercules who will cost around £4m.

Dalglish turned to Rodallega after making an inquiry for Freiburgs Senegalese striker Papiss Cisse.

He is valued at £13m and is also looking for around £4m-a-year.

So Rodallega is a much cheaper alternative.

Rodallega for £9 mill.would be a brilliant signing.
He'd make for a very decent addition.

From El Judas, Kuyt and N'Gog to Suarez, Carroll, Kuyt and Rodallega would be a huge improvement

I think I'd have a fit if I saw a striker with Cisse on his back in our colours again, whether it was that one trick pony again or not.

Nope, nothing of note since the news we needed to shift people off the wage bill before recruiting. Which hit the press two days later anyway, & is hardly news cos it's common sense.

TBH it's a closed shop, there's two/three people on a private site who have got things right this summer, but even they are only getting tiny bits of info & they're about 24 hours ahead of the press with important stuff. Mark's had general news on targets early, he called Downing in March, well before anyone anyone else had.

They usually happen between two clubs who negotiate a fee for a player one side wants.

Ha, thats quite good Ross. First time I've smiled since friday afternoon. Thank you mate.

Yeah I'd take that, he's a cracking player.

Palermo vice-president Guglielmo Micciche says Javier Pastore is 'very likely' to join Chelsea.

The Sicilian club's chief Maurizio Zamparini stated on Saturday that Manchester City and Roma, along with Chelsea, were interested in landing the Argentine forward.

But now Micciche has admitted that Chelsea are in pole position to land the 22-year-old, who Palermo have previously insisted would cost any side €45million (£39.7m).

"We are talking about a great player who, in my opinion, is extraordinary," Micciche explained to Radio Sportiva.

"There is no doubt that he should be sold for several reasons. He wants a big club and negotiations are well advanced with a very important team.

"His agent is working well and if someone pays the right amount we are happy to let him go.

"Very likely he will go to Chelsea but I think there are many other clubs of that level looking at the boy."

Micciche ruled out any suggestion of a player plus cash deal for Pastore, adding: "We don't want any players in exchange, it would be impossible because it would mean taking players of a level that Palermo could not afford."

In one or two of today's papers Ginsoak is said to be considering a move for Joey Barton.
Going by Ryan's theory, that would make Barton a better player than Lucas, who's only ever been linked with a Rafa coached team (Inter) and Villareal.

Your gripe against Adam (& Enrique - I don't think Downing, as he WAS linked to Arsenal and the 'rumor' is the Mancs tried to pry him away from us too) is that none of the top 4 are linked to them.

And you'd really rather have an on form Lucas over an on form Barton? (assuming Barton is in his 'behave well' stage)

You've taken 2 and 2 and made 18. Well done.

And yes, I'd far rather Lucas over Barton. Joey Barton couldn't even force his way into Newcastle's central midfield.
