How are we not playing with wingers?

well don't our wide players in the 4-3-3 come inside alot allowing the fullbacks to push on and provide the width ? I'm pretty there are quotes from rodgers on the very subject .

Even Sterling , he's actually looked better when receiving the ball after drifting inside .

Salah is a left-footed player, who primarily plays on right wing and sometimes on the left or as secondary striker. No matter which flank he is playing on, he has the ability to cut inside or outside, which makes him less predictable.

This is true, you just have to watch us to know this.

Formationally we play with wingers, they just cut inside. Salah does this with aplomb

If it makes you feel better, Spurs also have been scouting Salah – but they are unlikely to bid because wingers and AMs are not their priority now. I'm sure there is a lot of interest after his performances in CL and Europa League. Why are more clubs not ready to enter the bidding war? Because only 3 or 4 other clubs can realistically compete with us in this segment of the market – a potentially major talent who commands a relatively high fee (ruling out most of the Bundesliga (except Dortmund), French, Spanish and Italian League), is too ambitious to go to Russia or Turkey and doesn't have enough reputation to interest the "big boys." Those are the most potentially profitable gambles to make, but only a few clubs are in a position to make them.

Diouf? This is a ridiculous comparison on many levels.

The only problematic thing I see with Salah is the potential anti-semitic stuff. With our luck, I just feel we are going to find ourselves embroiled in another controversy sooner or later. Let's hope football can be used to bring people together rather then divide them.

There's NOTHING anti-semitic about what he did sir - nothing. I have no problem with what he did - I think it's pathetic (Sports should unite, as Mandela showed) but it's political (or so I hope).

Diouf was one of the most highly rated African talents ... We supposedly got a bargain after he dismantled France in the World Cup in 2002. It's a gamble here - and I just feel that it's a big one at 12 million. 8 million and I'm ok with it. But 12 million? It just feels like it's a bit too much. I will try and watch a game or two of Basel if they play during the holiday season ... See more of him

I cant tell if LTW is being sarcastic or not. What did Salah do, and was it bad of him?

He just wouldn't shake hands with players on an Israeli team that Basel beat to get to the group stage. It's not anti-semitic, it's political. Most athletes from the Arab world in int'l competitions refuse to shake hands, or even compete, with Israelis.

Ah, I see, lucky Yossi isn't here anymore, still that shit shouldn't bleed into football.

From the Cabaye rumours on Echo...😀

"Cabaye can be useful. He is good with set pieces and long range shot. Gerrard long shot it's not they used to be. I miss younger Gerrard legs 🙂"

To be fair though, Willian hasnt been that bad. Its just thst people expect more for 35 mill £.
Most expect a quick fix even though he has to adjust to a new team, country, culture and language.
He's played 10ish games and I see people creaming themselves with I called it, he's shite.

The fee was ridiculous but Willian is an excellent player. Maybe if Moruinho wasnt under a bit of pressure after a couple of bad results he would have played more.

I saw the game against Sunderland and I thought he was very good. You cant take the ball off him and he's got pretty much everything. If Chelsea had a good striker you'd probably see some of the chances he creates in terms of goals aswell.

I think he'll come good and loads of people will eat humble pie. But the fee was inflated and ridiculous and for that reason I'm okay with him ending up in Chelsea.

This is correct.

[article]Liverpool have been warned they face competition for FC Basel winger Mohamed Salah.

Agent Sascha Empacher told TMW: “There is strong interest from the Premier League, this is true, but I will not discuss names at the time.

“The percentage of his chances of leaving Switzerland? It is currently not possible to make it. At this time the interest comes mainly from Great Britain, Spain and Germany.”[/article]

Welcome to the bazaar - let the bargaining begin 😉

Likely as not, Spurs only started scouting him after our reported interest.

Liverpool close to £7m deal for Mohamed Salah and are targeting Sevilla star Ivan Rakitic

Plus, Brendan Rodgers will offload Daniel Agger to Napoli on an initial loan deal if he can get in a replacement

Mohamed Salah: On his way to Liverpool?
Liverpool are close to agreeing a £7million fee for Mohamed Salah.
The playmaker has scored 17 goals in 26 games for his country Egypt.
Salah also impressed in the Champions’ League this season for his Swiss club FC Basle, scoring both home and away against Chelsea, and inspiring the interest of the London club.
But he has indicated he wants a move to Anfield, and Brendan Rodgers is keen to land the striker who can play in any one of the front three roles in his system, or play behind a centre forward.
Rodgers is interested too, in Sevilla star Ivan Rakitic, and will also offload Daniel Agger to Napoli on an initial loan deal with a view to an £8million permanent transfer in the summer - but only if he gets a defensive replacement first.

Rakitic is, in terms of goals and assists, the 3rd best player in La Liga this season.

I think.

Since I don't follow Seria A that closely I had to turn to youtube to see what Rakitic is all about.

Very Nedved like.
