Im starting to not rate him at all.
He doesnt come for crosses enough, he cant throw or kick the ball very well.
But the worst thing is his ridiculous for the camera diving saves, he could so easily catch half the shots he slaps out. He gives posession away constantly. Pushing soft shots out for corners with ridiculous dives thrown in.
Reaction saves seems all he can do.

Harsh. I agree with some of the points, but he clearly is a good shot stopper.

A lot of the points you raise are really to be addressed through good coaching. As Macca has said several times already, we don't seem to have had that for a long time now insofar as keepers are concerned.

Exactly, he's someway down our list of issues, he might not be Reina-esque in his sweeping ability, but at least he can fucking move. The rest of his game is fine, and his distribution issues are being exaggerated, also there is the fact that (as you say) the players infront of him aren't helping with their dithering and panicking. His command of the box is getting better, as for Oncy's "camera saves" comment, don't be fucking ridiculous.

Rooney's shot from outside the box had a lot of power behind it, he saw it late, made a decision and stuck to it. He didn't concede either shot, big fucking swing if the cameras liked it. There's a lot more pressing issues than having a keeper who pulls off constant strings of saves. People need to get off his back and leave him settle.

Slating a keeper for making saves and ensuring the ball leaves the pitch and doesn't bounce back into the area is really scraping the barrel! I really rate him and think we're on to a winner with the guy.

The biggest issue I see making him appear worse at passing/ distributing is he'll roll it out to the defence who just pass it straight back to him under pressure meaning he has to hoof it.

Agree 100%. We saw in the Southampton match that our improvised back four of centre-backs couldn't clear the ball out of defence when under pressure. They kept passing back to Mignolet in less and less appropriate situations. I thought Mignolet coped quite well in the circumstances.

What makes you so certain he could catch the ball? I honestly can't think of any where I've thought he has palmed it instead of catching unnecessarily.

When looking for areas of our game/ play we can improve I think this is so far fetched compared to say:

• Organising the defence
• Giving The keep options when he has the ball
• Holding on to the ball in the final 3rd
• Lack of width
• Poor numbers getting in the box

Then IMO it is scraping the barrel. In a perfect world a keep would catch every ball/ shot but when they are piledrivers i'm personally very happy to see it saved and not pushed back out into the six yard box.

Saying we are poor at defending corners then puts Mignolet in a crap situation if he is instructred not to put the ball out for a corner. He'll then try to hold on to one that he should have pushed out which might cause a greater mistake.
