The 'couple of issues here and there' are fucking HUGE with a keeper and will cost us goals and games. They need sorting, then he could be a class keeper.

I do agree on the crosses bit... It seems to be a GK trend these days. Maybe the lighter & more swervy balls just make it too risky for keepers to come out and grab high balls these days?

I totally accept Oncy's point though. His distribution is questionable and he definitely could've caught one or two balls instead of parrying. But a bit of proper coaching will knock that out of him.

Anyway... Mignolet's shot stopping has been magnificent and his distribution has been atrocious. Part of why both are noticable is Reina was poor at the former toward the end, but at the latter is one of the best in the world, and that never went away. In addition to the spectacular odd goal he contributed to, his throws to spring a counter were brilliant.
Yes I'd rather the shot stopping be brilliant, than the distribution, if I could just pick one, but I'd expect that they are working on distribution with Mignolet because we should be looking to improve where every player is weakest. I want it all.
And yes the fact that we've played recently with little wide outlet due to our out of position fullbacks doesn't help, but its all the more reason to work on the problem.

The opposition are using it as an obvious tactic cos our movement & space finding in the centre is not up to scratch currently.
That's a tactical problem more than anything.
Mignolet can learn to play it better when kicking into the midfield & beyond, & he can learn to command his area much better too.
