They are pressing really well but surely they can't keep it up, we need to play some longer balls when they are pressing, just bypass it all, fucking frustrating watching us play with fire.
That ref should have played the advantage a couple of times there, we were away.

If Johnson wants a new contract, he needs to show he deserves it rather than talking about it. Poor display again by him so far.
If Lucas hopes to play more now that Gerrard is playing his position, he needs to learn to pass faster when deployed in the second line of CMs. Henderson and Allen are really quick to move towards the ball to receive it, and then they have the ability to release it quickly and accurately as well most times. You don't get the same from Lucas right now in that regard; I think he is going to have a difficult time beating the other 3 CMs for a place when everyone is fit.

i don't think lucas has the pace or mobility to do what allen is doing . Which is fair enough . Plus it's a new position for him .

I agree with a lot of that, but Gerrard is going to be 34 and we will have a lot more games to contend with next season. Lucas is a great player to have in the squad.

I think the point being made is that Lucas as a CM doesn't look like a long term solution.
