Did anyone else notice Gerrard's reaction when Lucas gave away the final free kick?
He was absolutley fuming with him it was hilarious it was like when you have to play with the worst player of the class in your team and you curse his every move

I know we've got 3 'cup finals' left to go but sorry, just can't resist this on Easter.
  • Gerrard is not a 'top, top player', 'seldom had a kick' when coming up against a midfield of Roy Keane and Paul Scholes, only had more success at international level than Michael Carrick because of 'bravado'
  • Brendan Rodgers is 'eight players short of becoming genuine title contenders'
  • Henderson’s gait will cause him problems later in his career because he runs from his knees with a straight back.
  • Surprise that Rodgers was appointed as Dalglish’s replacement, given that he was ‘only’ 39 years old.
  • Highlights the American fly-on-the-wall documentary that followed Rodgers at the start of his tenure as a ‘mistake'
and
  • Handpicking David Moyes as his successor, proclaiming "there is no question he has all the qualities we expect of a manager at this club."

I definitely have a few more grey hairs after that. Sign of champions though innit? Playing a bit shit and still winning.

I'm staying with a mate in a shite part of Las Vegas tonight, the hood if you will... I went mad at the whistle as I'm sure we all did.. Anyway, someone outside heard me and they're now attempting to overturn a dumpster.

WHAT A FUCKING DAY!!

I quite like the last one.

Fucking hell we're not doing this the easy way, no doubt next week will be a fucking stress too. Great result though.

Massive result. We need a better defence but we're top of the league, 5 points clear with three games to go, so I'll live with this one for now! I honestly can't believe back in January I was wailing about no signings. I should have had more faith in Brendan and the team.

I thought Norwich were great today. They deserved something from the game.
But thank fuck
But still glad they lost; apart from the obvious bonus of the 3 points to our own campaign we owed it to Sunderland to take all the points from Norwich.

short term analysis - We didn't play well for a large majority of that game , we couldn't control the game and were very sloppy . But at this stage results are all that matter and we roll on . We may have been nervous but we got through it . We were actually pretty stable after it went 3-2 . 11 wins on the bounce , that is special .

Long term - there is lots of room for improvement in aspects of our game , especially defensively . We really concede too many goals and we can't defend crosses . Has a team top of the table with 3 games to go ever conceded as many as us ? So many of the goals we concede are individual errors or just shocking play . Cut that out and who knows where this team can go .

I don't like how we seem to step off when we get a lead and look to just play on the break ,we've done it all season and yes we've got away with it so perhaps what the fuck do i know but still , we make it hard for ourselves .

I'm just not a fan of mingolet . I'd really look to replace him in the summer . I of course acknowledge how good his shot stopping is but the other mistakes he makes are outweighing the positives .

Anyway most of the above is for the summer . For the moment let's enjoy it and relax until next sunday .

Damn dude ... 'match thread' and you're a few points away from #19 and you're worrying about the summer? recover from the heart attack, drink a cold beer, and SMILE! We're on top the league.

Nope. Never done before in the 38-game Premier League era I think. We'll be setting another new record by the time we're done.

We've conceded 44 so far.
The Mancs conceded 43 last season after 38 games. Close but we've already exceeded that.
After that, you have to go back to 1999-2000, when the Mancs (again) conceded 45.
In 1996-1997, the Mancs (fuck, again!) conceded 44.

where did i say i was worrying or not enjoying this ? . I was merely analysing what i saw from the team today and over the season .

anyway i'm just from the ronnie moran school of football -

What are your memories of when Liverpool last won the league against Queens Park Rangers in 1990?

Kenny Dalglish What QPR game?
Roy Evans I remember coming back on the bus.
Ian Rush What? We were at home.
RE Sorry, I was thinking of Wolves (1976).

Perhaps the confusion demonstrates how used to success you were then …

RE You didn't have chance to think anything else with Ronnie Moran about.
IR He'd throw your medal at you and say: "Four weeks until pre-season."
KD I bet they don't get their medals in a cardboard box these days. Ronnie would say: "Pick one if you think you deserve it."

Does the saying 'You don't know what you've got until it's gone' apply to Liverpool?

RE But that is where Ronnie was so good. At times he was a pain in the backside but he was a reality check and sometimes you need that. Of course we would celebrate and you had a few days on the beer with the boys, but you have to come back to reality and start again.
