Managers that changed teams

Rafa4PM - Prepare4aHumping FC

... Or so he says...

Paul Lambert Norwich, bottom 3 in the first division when he took over after a 1-7 humping by mighty Colchester; he gets them promoted that season and into the Premier League the following season.

Wasn't there someone who said managers don't make a difference to a team on here?

Yes.

When you equalise for all other factors, only two managers in the Premiership have made a positive difference to their club.

You'll note that nobody actually attempts to think of the other factors in this thread.

Cruiff at Barca.

And I would argue Van Gaal at Bayern - he was the one who created the first prototype of the team that won 4 cups this year.

I think you said before it was Ferguson and Wenger? Now that Ferguson is gone, we can expect United to fall away.

Other than the ones mentioned I'd say Luis Aragones - Spain, and Del Bosque - Real Madrid and Spain. I know Spain have a golden generation of players but Del Bosque has invented this thing of playing without a striker, and bringing unprecedented success with it.

I don't think we can, given what we know about the correlation between wage bills and league position. They'll still be up there.

But Moyes is going the right way about messing them up a bit. There's nothing like a new manager making unneccesary changes,to make himself feel more comfortable. Fixing what isn't broken

Maybe....

Nigel Adkins - Southampton (League 1 to Prem)
Eddie Howe - Bournemouth (Relegation Zone League 1 to near Promotion then left..... then came back and got them promoted to the Championship)

I know he became a bit of a joke figure after his time managing England but Graham Taylor was a fantastic manager for Watford. I believe he took them from the 4th division to the 1st in almost successive seasons, took them into Europe and to an FA Cup final.
