Mamadou Sakho signed.

Working a slightly shite hairdo (though I won't be telling that to his face anytime soon!). Now, show us a stepover and we can call you a marquee signing. Le Gladiateur is a fitting nick though. He looks every inch the part, even in a photo op.

All of that suggests Ancelotti and Leonardo wanted him out from the start and had just been looking for excuses, instead of having the balls to be straight with him about what they intended. If it makes him as grateful for a fresh start as Sturridge obviously is, it could be a blessing in disguise.

I know this is no measure of a player at all. But I have signed Sakho for my team on Fifa every year for about the past 4 years and he ALWAYS turns out to be amazing.
Im so fucking happy we have signed him. Great GREAT signing.
And it is a Marquee signing.
The reason Bayern smashed the fuck out of the Spanish teams last year is because they never strengthen their defence. We are building the right way. Im very happy with that.

Wow.
If I ran into Sahko in a dark alley I would sloowwwlly inch the hell out of there while sweating buckets out my arse. I think I could even cry.

Fucking made up with this signing. One of the biggest defensive prospects in the world, and him and Varane have the potential to be the 2 best centre backs in the world. A really big signing this if he fulfills his potential. I'm quite surprised in all honesty.

I have a mate who is a PSG fan and he's absolutely livid/distraught that they've let him go. To the point where he doesn't respond to my annoying faces gloating over snapchat anymore.

LIVERPOOL SIGN SAKHO AND ILORI
Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre: "Sakho is a top, top centre-half and that adds to the great centre-back pairings that we have already and it will give that depth.
"He's an important marquee signing for us. It was a difficult one to do and it was a difficult one for us to get, but I'm very pleased that we've been able to attract him to the football club.

He is.

I love this signing ... I've been a fan of his as he grew up in PSG (started with him being a star on FM and then I actually followed him).

I don't know why he was dropped - but I think this has the making of a signing that we'll be talking about for years ... We screwed Chelsea and Inter a 9 months ago, we've just done the same to PSG imo ... We're building a great team here with a strong spine ... Exciting times.

Yeah well the lizards are what they are. We saw this aeons ago didn't we? Cheap bastards. But the fact that the wage bill can be lowered while the quality of the squad can be considerably improved for peanuts shows what a mess the club was placed over the last few years. BR and his team might actually be dead dead good.

In other words he´s one of the first players on the team sheet. And if he isn´t he´s a flop.

Poor Ilori looks as though he's just realised that the backwards baseball cap isn't going to be enough to ingratiate him with the black dudes. And that's Purslow in the row ahead, no doubt reminiscing once again about his genius deal for Joe Cole. Meanwhile the blonde woman on the left is leaning over and saying: "Oi! Purslow! You're shit, you are!!"

Alongside PSG's Marquinhos (who is ironically ousting Sahko) and Porto's Mangala, defenders who have ALL the boxes ticked, from pace and heading to reading of the game and technical ability. I'd also put Saint Etienne's Zouma and Ilori in the same broad bracket.

Okore from Villa is in that bracket too.

Having watched Zouma in the Europa League this Season I must admit he left me rather underwhelmed. He's young and people who should know their footy rave about him so was probably only a bad run of fixtures for him and the team.

Have you seen much of Illori btw?

i'm made up with the signing but i'm not gonna pretend our owners have been awesome here. we've spent about 15 mill net and massively reduced the wage bill.
Ive talked about that at length mate and i agree totally.
But im still happy with who we are bringing in.
I think we might end up short up front, but at the back we have done amazing work.
We had Johnson - Agger - Skrtel - Enrique as a first-ish choice base and we have added competition across all the positions.
Its really good.

2 points:

1. I didn't know snapchat could be used for anything other than sending photos of your cock.

2. Boumsong and Mexes

I don't get point 2 - especially as there have been extremely gifted young French defenders who've done well when moving abroad. Also, neither of the two you mentioned captained one of the iconic clubs in France (even before they were bought!) and started at such a young age ... There is a difference, though it may not mean anything when it comes down to it (though naturally, we both hope it does).

Okore is a good shout, looks solid whenever I have seen him, which isn't often. Haven't seen much of Ilori apart from the Next-Gen games and YT highlights and compilations, but from what I have read (and little I've seen), he has all the tools. Probably the fastest young centre half around. Immediate task at hand is to bulk up though.

I wonder why Suarez wanted out so bad.
