Lucas the best player in the world

He showed yesterday that can play in that position. We finally had a central defender that didn't need three weeks to pass the ball and organised the defence much better than the rest of our central defenders this season. We played quicker because of him. He is also our best tackler.

He isn't slower than Skrtel, Lovren, Sakho.

I would say that right now he is our best choice in that position. Klopp need to sign at least one new central defender but until then Lucas should play as a central defender.

Maybe you should point out why he isn't our best choice at the moment instead of acting like an idiot. I have seen some major, major, major post defeat meltdowns here. Usually Lucas is called whatever shit nickname you can imagine up and fans like you attack other fans without any reason at all. Discuss it as an adult and not like a teen on drugs.
 
Lucas is exceptionally slow, definitely slower than Skrtel, Lovren Sakho.

He is also (unfortunately) the only adequate DM we have, so moving him from there is equally as stupid as moving him to centre back.
 
Watford barely attacked in the second half. That's why he looked competent. He gets run past so many times in midfield it's not even funny, so that's not really a great trait for a centre half.

You have to realise there are opinions, there are ideas and then there are (to quote the SCM dictionary) headwands of the highest order. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume you are rocking the 'Mascherano at Barca' kind of idea for our dear Lucas. Per your request, my reasons for avoiding this like the fucking free peanuts on a lapdancing club bar:

Pace (lack of)
Marking ability (lack of)
Turning circle (size of cross channel ferry)
Tackling ability (lack of)
Ability of other teammates to get between Lucas and the goal for the inevitable amble back 30yrds before executing ankle tap (90% when playing DM, 10 % when playing CB)
Heading ability...hell, jumping (lack of)
Ability to read game at CB (lack of)
Ability to look long faced towards the crowd currently jeering and passing the ball around as a result of where he has just punted it (Skrtel-esque)
 
I want Lucas out of team all together. He's not good enough as a defensive midfielder and he certainly isnt a centre back.

No. Can is better as a CB, but Klopp wanted to score, so he put Can in midfield instead of Lucas. Hope we won't see Lucas at CB again.

He is one of the best tacklers in the league and been that for many years. He is excellent reading the game, probably the best in the squad together with Coutinho. Lucas more or less never punts the ball.

It is shit that fans like you imagines up outright lies about him just to blame him. He more or less never keeps the ball more than a second or two before passing it and he is an excellent passer.

To even suggest that he can't tackle is probably the worst lie ever on SCM. The reason that he gets injured so often is that he make so many tackles. He win most of them by the way.

Before you accuse people of lying, try to read and understand the post again. I clearly meant the formation after Skrtel's injury – Klopp could have placed Can in central defense and left Lucas where he was (that's what Rodgers would have done, in fact I think he did just that in one of the games), but he chose to switch Lucas to CB for the reasons I tried to explain.

Lucas is very good at reading the game - in CENTRAL MIDFIELD where he has spent his entire Liverpool career. Yesterday, he looked like a lost child for the 3rd goal (which is not his fault) but puts pay to your assertion that he has shown the necessary signs to play CB.

I may amend "punt" to "abject fucking passing failure" which you will note from yesterday (bad surface as it was) led to him lashing not one but two lateral passes out of play. Excusable, perhaps, if you're attempting the Gerrard Hollywood-pass, not so much when all you really do is knock it 5-10yrds each and every time. For your entire career.

Lastly champ, he is much less of a tackler than a jockeyer - at best in the Didi Hamann role. Try that sideways channelling of attackers, pushing them into a blind alley aided by your defensive cover when you are in fact that very same defence. Would it work? No. Would it be spectacularly awful? Yes.

If you mean better than Lucas in that position, certainly. If you mean better at CB than in midfield, for once I don't agree. He's filled in there at times and not done too badly, but neither his skills nor his instincts are primarily defensive. I don't think he'd be a success there long-term.
 
Lucas utterly fucking up a header in midfield yesterday directly led to their second goal. He's a load of fucking shite.

Nope. And it's surely not a complete coincidence that Hyypia was first scouted by a great CB (Ron Yeats), and then checked by another one (Phil Thompson) before the manager committed to signing him. FSG need to learn to trust the people who really know an individual player for a position, rather than those who just know what various stats add up to.
