Losing It

I couldn't care less about next season. This season is consuming me - if we win it, I doubt I'll come down from the clouds in time to be aware of next season.
At the moment my favourite day of the week is Monday - I know the dream is alive for another week.

Has anyone else got to used to 1st half goals? What is it? 24 in a row? Even against west game as the game ticked over 43 mins I expected a goal.

What a great feeling to have week to week.

I equally expected a goal before 10 mins against city and inside 15 against Norwich

Hmm..i used to be like Fark but i've since come to realize that football isn't like what Shanks would say, more important than life and death ?

Of course i'd be lying if the outcome of this season won't affect me. It will.

But 2 decades of rollercoasters of emotions supporting this club, have left me a little more prepared for whatever the outcome, i'd like to think.

having said all that, there's only one tiny qualm that i still have.

would dreamy shut his jinxy gob until after this season ends ?! ffs !

SHANKS WOULD NOT SAY THAT FFS! He was ripping the p!$$ out of that attitude. His true views were very, very different and his book makes that crystal clear.

I'm in pieces this morning. City faltering and feeling the pressure. Can we really do this?

FUCK.

Good to finally see the likes of Skrtel, Johnson & Agger, starting to show their experience for us to compliment the younger players like Flanagan, Sterling, Coutinho, Henderson, Allen and Sturridge. We've got a good mix of experience and the foundations of a bright future.

Oh FFS Mark, not you as well ! I'm seeing this basic error all over the internet and it's doing my head in 😀

Fuck. People are thinking about next season? I can't even see past the next game.

Having said that, next season will be a lot tougher, with us being in Europe.

Yes because my jinxy gob have stopped us in the last 10 games 😉

And I would be expected to know ? I've never read his book.

All i know is that it's common, popular belief that he said that.....
  • Someone said to me 'To you football is a matter of life or death!' and I said 'Listen, it's more important than that'.
    • An interview on a Granada Television chat-show, hosted by Shelley Rohde on Wednesday 20th of May 1981

So please don't shoot the messenger and all that.

If I remember correctly, he did say that but later expressed that's not what he really thinks.

It doesn't really matter anyways.

I'm totally fucked. Seems to be loops with me, in the car, on foot, carrying the baby. I can't keep still. Just go round and round making sure I touch the exact same spots with my feet, or drive past the exact same places. Used to be the same when I lived in the sticks, would drive a loop round the lanes getting quicker and quicker until the final whistle. I'm never as bad at the game.
I'm also not talking about football AT ALL in the office, despite being sat near a smug Arsenal fan and a Citeh fan. I honestly don't want to give it any billy big bollocks until it's over. Not mentioned the hammering we gave Arsehole FC, not mentioned Sunday or last night. They know what's coming if we win the fucking thing though.

I'm the same with these blues. Keep just saying, "cl footy, that's all we want, that'll do."

Fair enough. I have to keep reminding myself that not everybody (to say the least) is as old as I am and can actually remember the last time we were this good. 😀 Incidentally his book is well worth a read if you can find a copy for a sensible price on eBay or something.

Peace.

Reading stuff like this helps. For no good logical reason whatsoever.

I've bumped this because I had to see if anyone else is getting worse than we all were a few days ago?
Anyone else developing even more alarming ticks and OCD symptoms the further this goes?
I have now found myself deleting the entire word if I've spelt it wrong on the computer instead of just changing the missing letter or whatever. I can't stop myself. I feel like I've got the equivalent of Dartitis or the yips. Even found myself putting a fork back in the draw the other day because I had picked the 'wrong' fork out.
Please let us beat the Gangster's Codpiece and then watch Citeh drop points to Palace. I'm going fucking hatstand.

I do both of those anyway.

Is that really OCD?

Fuck.

I know now that we are close enough that there's no painless way not to win it. And yet it could all go wrong so quickly. As Sean is I'm desperately hoping for a win Sunday, and for City to drop points - just so I can get some calm back.

Yeah, it's the 'one hand on the trophy', 'ours for the taking', 'it's all but over' stuff that's killing me. It could be all turned around by the end of Sunday. Lots of twists still to come. I would love to believe we'll win all three but the horror of Chelsea fills me with dread. We're like Luke Skywalker facing the Evil Empire.
Another thing I've not been able to help myself doing is I've convinced myself that even looking at the Red Sox scores or watching any baseball at all means we won't win the title. Which is a fucker, because it's my other passion and would have helped take my mind off the title run in. Damn it!
