We're looking at bale according to some twitterings. He's not happy with the witch hunt at Madrid and wants to go somewhere where he can have a special bond with the fans. We've apparently sold him the project and are said to be confidant it's in the bag..... Oh new Twitter info just in... He's staying at Madrid for loads of money, cl and trophies.

Heh. But.. but... the thread is only 7 pages long.

We've missed out on weeks and weeks of "will he, won't he" angst. Bastards!

You'd like to think this is a trap and we didn't want him, and we've learnt from our previous mistakes of declaring interest and them being to slow and let others slip in. But it's probably not, he was probably our no.1 target.
I suspect that the scum can offer a far superior financial package that gets it over the line much quicker too - we offer cash in instalments and 80k a week, they offer cash upfront and 200k a week.

No point trying to change the view now. This kid is going to be a fucking star and we're still shit.
Nothing new here then.

Standard Liverpool, kick out heels about haggling etc. This is a massive loss, he's a HUGE talent.

It's happened with Konoplyanka, Salah, Willian and now Depay. FFS! We are crap on and off the pitch

If anybody read the quotes from Twitter as meaning we were in the driving seat and United were nowhere to be seen then I feel sorry for you.

The only connection to us that I read was from his agent. I saw absolutely nothing from the club to suggest we were in for him.

There were leaks from PSV that we had been watching him all season and had been given permission to talk to him.

Not too fussed about losing out on Depay - he'd have come into the team in a position which we're well-stocked in for the future, even if our lads are still young and learning. Wingers don't quite often score double figures in this league - our first priority should still be getting one or two proper strikers to fix the obvious weaknesses in the team.

The bad news is that the Mancs will also be looking to add a striker or two so we'll be up against them in that race as well. That problem is compounded by the crop this season looking pretty weak.

I forgot about this one....

Apparently we weren't even after him.

I'm not saying we weren't interested in him. We probably were.

My point is that people are in despair because utd, apparently, nipped in and stole him from under our nose, when it was it was quite obvious, to anyone with a hole in their arse, that at the very least he would be as interested in signing for them as us.
