Depay: "United is a dream club - and to work with LVG again is also a big bonus"

And that's what you get when you employ David Brent as your Manager..

We have about as much pulling power in the transfer market as a fridge magnet..

As if klopp wouldn't make a difference.
You would think his name would attract Bigger name players..

It's been done to death we have no standout names at manager, coaching or board level at the club..

That for me makes a huge difference.. potentially shows lack of ambition to some players

You have a second tier setup.. you attract second tier players..

Yep. The psychology of these things is completely underrated by most.

We will totally make up for this by submitting a 22 million bid for Bolasie.

Bolasie, Ings, Austin... And people will wonder why we will struggle around midtable.

Who have we signed out of these three? Let's not invent things to slate the club for now.

And for the record, Ings would be a good signing - IF we supplement the forward line with a top class striker. I see no reason to slate the prospective signing of Ings or Milner. Both are good players who will come in and do well. But we need the 2-3 top class players as well.

It's always 'a good signing as long as we also get top class players'. The top class players never come though.

We are a delusional bunch if we think we will bring in that 'world-class' player this summer.

We had that Suarez money and CL to play for last season and we still got rejected by Sanchez. In fact we probably got turned down by a few other top targets too.

This season we probably won't hav the CL to lure the top players. Plus we're kinda a broke ass club running on a pretty tight budget. And you've got a manager who's won nothing yet in his career, the club's only top player retiring off to the States, and Sterling wanting to leave.

Other than the great tradition and cabinet full of trophies, which I'm sure makes an overwhelmingly attractive selling point in any transfer negotiation, I don't see any appealing reason for any top player to want to join us for the new season.

Focus on the youth instead. Accelerate them into the first team pronto.

I dont get the we fucked up or its Rodegrs fault at all.

We always knew he fancied Utd and Van Gaal has been described as a "father figure" for him.

Our chance was if Utd went for Bale, but as Real and his agent said today, he aint moving.
So Utd went for Depay.

We fucked up in the past regarding transfers and probably will again, but this partcular one isnt a something we can hold againt Rodgers imho.

I dont think we'll be signing Bolasie or Austin either.

Like I said we don't have the big names at the club.. at all levels to attract the players..

From the outside looking in we look like a club lacking in ambition..

Willian, Salah, Konoplayanka, Mikhtarian

We seem to be making a habit of it.

Thats not true. We have ambition and we spend more than enough money. But we have big issues spending it correctly and making the right calls taking the clubs forward.

Because the infastructure is not there.. huge lack of experince at all levels of the club..

We are trying to be a big club running on an infrastructure on par to that of Swansea City...

Thats well OTT but anyway. Re Spurs is that Sigurdsson we're talking about?
He wanted more money than we were prepared to give him and then 1 year later he goes back to Swansea. I'd say we offered the correct amount and did the right thing.

Common theme is wages.

We have a structure and sticking to it, so will continue to miss out on these sort of players.

Yep. It's cloud cuckoo land policy. If they're not gonna spend then stop wasting time chasing players who are never gonna come.

Depay is bound to have been offered at least what Luke Shaw is on, so 120 grand or so. Can't see us offering that.

They might well sell up to a despot with a dodgy human rights record after building the stadium if we are lucky.

We're totally in the dark on what we were willing to offer.

But for the me the consistent theme is none of the big agents do much business with us.

If Mendes has a player moving to England you can be certain it'll be to Chelsea or United (Falcao, and Di Maria). I presume City are cosy with him now.

And Depay has the same agent as RVP.

Some players like, Lazer will sign for us but will continue to miss out on other targets.

Arse had same problems until they broke wage structure to sign Ozil/sanchez.
