Mignolet 7 - Kept us in the game. Had he saved the header from Walters we would have called it a world class save so it's not a gaff imo.

Clyne 6
Lovren 7
Klavan 7
Milner 7

Henderson 7.5
Lallana 7
Wijnaldum 7.5

Firmino 7
Origi 6
Mané 7

Subs
Sturridge 7
Can 6
Moreno n/a

Still felt we needed that 4th goal to assume we would win the game. Also fucked off that we did not seem to want to score goals 5, 6, 7, and 8. But other than that - glad we won.

My seat in the Main Stand affords me a view of the away supporters. There was an amusing episode this evening when an altercation occurred between two Stoke fans in fancy dress and the Merseyside Police. One of the Stoke fans was dressed up as Father Christmas, with a huge plastic Santa face, and the other I think was supposed to be an elf, wearing a blue velvet outfit. If you dress up like that you are obviously going to draw attention to yourself, and the elf must have been getting some comments from Liverpool fans. He flew into a rage and threw himself towards the Main Stand, flailing wildly at stewards and police. Santa tried to hold him back, but without success. The elf whacked a policeman full in the face. Eventually the boys in blue (yellow high-viz jackets actually) managed to grab the elf and bundled him out of the stand.

Didn't know he was chucked out but I noticed him too during the match. He got quite agitated as the game wore on and started to lose it. He even got booked for a late tackle on Wijnaldum.

Hart isnt the answer at all. One of those players the pundits seem to rate on old form and performances.
I like Hart. Every keeper goes through a poor spell and every keeper drops a clanger from time to time. Every small error a keeper makes is immediately in the spotlight as it could/does lead to a goal.

However Hart is a superb stopper, agile, tall and strong and an improvement on anything we have unless Karius gets back his BL form and improves further still. Gladiola was mad to get rid of Hart because he was the best keeper at the club.

The players rightly, with Klopp's assistance in subbing them off in some cases, sat back and didn't push on. We have City this weekend and then Sunderland 2 days later. I'd rather 7-9 points than winning this 8-1 and then end up losing to City and drawing at Sunderland because we'd wasted that extra 10% or so of energy levels on a match already won.

Elf and safety risk

Hart has had a poor spell for a couple of years now. Loads of mistakes and is probably worse then Ming when it comes to distribution. Massive wages as well. No thanks.

I agree, Hart isn't an upgrade. I'd rather lump that kind of money at Butland (who I know is injured).

Agree on Butland. Only worry is that ankle injury which has kept him out for ages now.

I didn't even think we played that well yesterday...yet still scored 4 will relative ease and that tells you everything you need to know about us as an attacking force under Klopp.

We're not perfect we still have frailties but then again you must have something wrong with you if you expected us to be...people still need to remember this is Klopp's first full season and we're well ahead of schedule if we look back and take stock. These are good times to be a Liverpool fan and that can't be underestimated.

What im really liking is teams trying to out harry us and close us down.

They are all bluster and passion and energy and pace and after 55 minutes they are ALL burnt the fuck out.

We are like BITCH PLEASE we can do this for NINETY minutes. And SWAMP the fuck out of teams last half hour.

Their gameplan really ought to be sit the fuck off and let us try to break them down (which worked for Burnley) but they all want to go toe to toe.

I dont know what Klopp puts in their ready brek but its plain to see week in week out we are fucking MILES fitter than anyone we face.
The last half hour is so FUN.

Henderson had a great game. He was a bit more reserved in the first part of the first half, but in the second he won everything and played some fantastic forward passes to get us on the break. Once again him and Wijnaldum bossed the midfield. Not sure what game Woland and co were watching. He played that lovely ball over the top for Mane (I think) which should have resulted in a goal, the brilliant longrange 40 yard pass and the pass for the own goal. For a deep lying playmaker he's weighing in fairly heavily with the chances created. Compare him & Lallana to Lucas, who was apparently criminally robbed of his attacking instincts by playing deeper.

Agreed Mark. As I said I missed the first half hour but he bossed shit when I was watching.

He got too caught up in the physicality at times, and in trying to overpower Crouch and Walters, he was jumping in too early or being too physical and giving away freekicks. When he played his normal game he was great, he made one brilliant interception on the break when he kept his cool and stood the player up. But the erratic play early on nearly cost us, he jumped in too early, missed the ball and we struggled to clear our lines as a result.

My fave moments were also crowd related. The constant singing of the Merry Christmas Everton song, as well as He Drives When He Wants for Frim.

Love that Mane Crimbo song. Jokey obvs but I'm not sure about that Firmino song.
