Here's the team baring any late injuries

Team for sunday: Reina johnson carra skrtel agger kuyt masch stevie jovanovic cole ngog.

Glad to see masch playing.

We're all excited and eager, but this seems a little premature.

Ah, I just noticed that this isn't the 'OFFICIAL' match thread.

EDIT: I just realised it was my reply that was premature. Didn't notice that you were posting the teamsheet. Good man.

Good man Redshrek.
Agger at LB is a worry if Walcott plays, he won't catch that fucker. He seems to have a final ball against us! Great to see Mash in there too. C'mon you redmen!

Its a very strong starting eleven bar torres not being there. I reckon thats as good as any of the arsenal, United or Chelsea.

The lack of goals in it is my only concern.

Hopefully Kuyt, Jova and Maxi can surprise me.

Thanks for the info, Redshrek.

It's a solid-looking team, but I'm a bit disappointed that Aurelio's not playing. Don't tell me he's injured again?

What worries me is it looks like a team designed to contain Arsenal rather than really attack them - and if so I think that's a mistake. Their defence is unsettled and their goalie is a nervous wreck: they're there for the taking. If we sit back, though, they'll pull us all over the place. Anyway... maybe I'm reading it wrongly, but I'd have preferred to see Squiggles' team.

Looks alright to me. Would anyone on here settle for a point now? I wouldn't. I think we should win.

i think you are reading it wrong. its an excellent team. there's no insua, no lucas. the wingers are solid. agger is a miles better defender than aurelio is. the whole team makes sense. whats the problem?

Agger's a centre-back, Aurelio's a left-back (and a much better passer/crosser).

Kuyt and Jovanovic are, as I've said before, rather an agricultural pairing on the wings.

Wash isn't very good.

All in all, it doesn't scream 'goals' to me. Hope I'm wrong, obviously.

No Lucas ;D I like that team.

However, I know that you're generally bang on with the team news, but isn't this a bit early?

maxi is a good substitute, so is aquilani. there's something about their intelligence they will pay more attention and then do the right things when they come on. kuyt for all his effort, if the game was going badly and we needed to alter the approach of the team, i don't think he'd have the mental capability to carry that out. he'd just come on and play his usual game. as would most of our squad. its better to keep a few clever players on the bench instead. players that are clever enough to play in more than one way

Aurelio's injured and it looks clear that Hodgson doesn't rate Insua all that highly, which I suppose is reassuring.

I'm far from convinced that N'gog is good enough to play lone striker against Arsenal. He has to be in a 4-4-2 with Kuyt for it to work.

I think I'm gonna like Jovanovic.

He even has the same nickname as pursssslow

Wow, barring Torres, you would have to be happy with that!

No Aquilani, no Lucas, no Eggnog

Happy. Fucking. Days.

u know we won't have much possession against arsenal, even at home. so on the counter attack kuyt would be useless even with a 50m head start. n'gog may not be very good, actually he's rubbish. but at least he has some kind of chance
