Well, back to mid table class. I enjoyed the title winning form in the second half of last season so much.

Can mods go back and delete those ridiculous last few pages. State of it and state of this result.

Directed at me mate? We were so shite it deserved those comments.
Other than a clean sheet what were the positives?

Bring in Ings and Ibe in January and the team would change dramatically. Lazar looks like he may be ready to contribute now.

I've said it every game he's played in - Lambert is seriously detrimental to our play. His movement is non-existent.

In the last minute Lambert HAS to get on that Henderson cross - he only needed a touch to score fucking hopeless

Bloody hell. Lambert doesn't fucking move.

But then again, he's a 32 year old journeyman.

Balotelli - won't move.
Lambert - can't move.

I'm bored of watching us with either of those two. It's just painful to see.

Another clean sheet??

The middle third have looked far more assured recently but we just don't have the right pieces just now. Lambert tries hard but not the player we needed against a team who piled so many bodies around that area.

Markovic looked better in his little cameo but while we had them pinned in their own penalty area for long periods we never really looked like creating a clear cut chance. More hoping to get it into the tangle of legs, hope the ball comes to ground and we get a foot on it. Almost happened a couple of times but it was the sort of approach you'd expect from a mid-table team.

Sterling was again getting very little from the ref but it's all or nothing with him; he stands and holds up players literally twice his size or goes to ground with a feather touch. That said, the run he made through the centre to give Coutinho the chance was as good as we've seen from anyone all season. Those moments were producing goals last season - this season they're a teaser for MOTD.
