Just watched the highlights. Shelvey and Cole looked good. Carra, Spearing and Enrique have a lot of work to do.

jesus whats been going on here, thought we played well, had some trouble in the first half with the fast paced passing which made us give the ball away a lot and made roma look very good but we gradually settled into it with some players doing better than otthers. It will take time for us to implement brendens style into the team but i assumed everybody already knew that.
It's worth noting aswell, the goals came straight after we made four subs. I thought we played well overall with a relatively inexperienced side, it's just about giving players game time and getting fit. Only a fucking bellend would read anything into pre-season results.
Indeed, the only preseason game where the result bothers me is the Spurs game, ha! We played good stuff last night, thats the important thing, our passing was quick and constant, link up play was better, but has a way to go. I imagine with more first teamers playing on Saturday, we'll turn it up another gear.

Negatives
Enrique seems to have continued his awful post new year form.
Carragher looks even slower than last season and his style won't go well with Rodger's philosophy.
Wilson,Sama,Adorjan,Eccleston are miles off what is required to play for a club with top 4 aspirations.
Positives.
Stirling getting some valuable first team experience.
Suso looks to be ready to step up very soon.
Morgan looks a real handful and he should be giving a few chances this season.
Most of all,I think Shelvey is improving fast and I really hope he isn't sent on loan this season.

i reckon he used these two games for the majority of the fringe players, the team for the spurs game will probably include most what he considers the first team and a few fringe players that have impressed enough to have a go with them
