50 mins to go yet Anita.

She's right, though. We won't win.

We look very dodgy at high balls thrown into our box but that aside we still have every chance of winning this match. Newcastle's defence looks shakier than ours is my logic.

But do we look threatening? I can't get a stream, so just reading all comments here, looks like I'm not missing much

Good : Miereles, Johnson, Kyrgiakos (sp.)
OK : Reina, Maxi, Torres, N'Gog
Poor : Konchesky, Skrtel, Lucas, Kuyt

Kuyt off for Babel on the right please.

Lucas is brilliant
I hope the Lucas apologists are watching.
Jesus he hasn't been that bad lads. Raul had a mare of a backpass there in the first half. If Lucas has done that it would have it'd own thread. Relax.

Shit first half. Torres look off the pace AGAIN. Cole and Babel on in the second half please.

From reading the comments here Torres is having a sulk, Konch is Shite, Lucas hasn't figured, sounds like a typical Roy away day so far.

I would like to see Kuyt getting replaced by Babel or Cole.

What has happened to Kuyt's work rate???
He's saving himself for January so he can start with a bang for his new club

Meireles has been running anything positive we do form the middle though.

And Lucas gave it away at a terrible moment, which would have been a great chance for Carroll if his touch wasn't shit.

The Newc defence is panicking every time we get close. We've had 7 (4 on target) to their 3 (1) and 54% to their 46% possession. Newcastle are relying on a lot of high balls into our box and that aside offer nothing as an attacking force. Meireles is running the show.... again (and I reiterate - his corners are so good Gerrard should be banned from ever taking them again). We will score but will we win ? Maybe.

I refuse to even nearly get my hopes up about Lucas anymore. He has a decent performance, people talk about how he can kick on from here, then he does his usual disappearing act again in the next game. What's the point?

1 win in 9 away from home I heard? Disgraceful.

Actually it's more reminiscent of a Benitez away performance. Lots of possession, no penetration.

And Torres isn't sulking - he's just off form.

The odds are now against us winning this, as it would involve not only an away win, but coming from behind to win, which we've forgotten how to do. But we're certainly not out of it. Just need to keep Carroll quiet and get Babel or Cole on for Kuyt.

Ngog has been decent

He had one good moment.

One more than Torres I guess.

-sigh-

Plus he is doing all Torres' running aswel as his own.

Talkshite has just said that in the last 26 away games for Hodgson in the Premiership, he has won just one. That can't be right, can it?

Yeah, right. Therefore what I said about his away performances generally isn't true, is it? Take a look at last season, Asbo. And maybe remove your blinkers first.

I knew it was bad, but I thought it was like 4 or 5 wins. So that 1 away win is that shitty scrappy 1-0 win against Bolton this season? What's the point of a manager who can't win away from home?
