Liverpool related transfer speculation

Portugal is the new Germany - over-hyped players that don’t play anywhere near as well in the Premier League.

Forget Nico Gonzalez, Barca will end up exerting the buy back option they have on him and stock piling him up with all their other ridiculous young midfield talents.

We need to be looking at Johnny Cardoso and Rocco Reitz.

They can't, they've fucked themselves by registering too many players already.

Anyway… this is going to annoy the usual suspects who prefer players not at the club to players actually at the club, but I think the January transfer window is going to be much like the last one - very little activity outside of opportunistic buys where there’s either a reasonable buy out clause or a team is in need of a sale.

Teams like Atalanta, Brighton, Bournemouth, all the Portuguese teams, Monaco, Leverkusen, etc that are doing well are not going to let good players go unless they are forced to by meeting a clause over someone ridiculously overpays.

I think it’s more likely we’ll look at summer deals - there’s probably some merit in not pushing a club for a sale mid season that could derail the rest of their season and instead tying up a deal for the summer instead.

I don’t expect any outgoing either - why would we - there’s enough players in the squad who, if we get their little window of form happening in the second half of the season, could power us to trophies - I’m looking at you Darwin, Harvey, Trent, Robbo, Mac A, Quansah and Cheesie (all yet yo be at their best, for various reasons)!!!

Before said usual suspects get all grrrrrr - that doesn’t mean I don’t want us or indeed think we shouldn’t strengthen… it just means I don’t think buying some random with a shit YouTube compilation actually improves us more than extracting some better performances out of the players we have.

I also don’t see the point in bringing in some average player when we have the likes of Morton, Nyoni, Danns & McConnell who are perfectly capable of contributing.

As I said, speculative - if someone on our list is actually available (and not getting angry at not signing players who didn’t and were never going to move anyway).

I think I'm allowed to be pissed off if we don't sign anyone despite what happened before.
Granted, we only have two injuries at the moment, but the injury bug can bite us at any time. You saw what happened last season.
We currently don't have any real cover for Gravy and Macca. At least not "like for like" replacements and I think Slot agrees because Gravy has almost played every game and Macca would have too if it weren't for the international fixtures.
It would be bordering on incompetence if we don't sign anyone this time around, considering what happened before when we've been in a similar position.
We really have a chance to push on and cement our position at the top of the league while staying competitive in the other competitions.
Why leave it all to chance? Again?!

And no, I'm not interested in an average midfielder. I have a feeling that Morton, McConnell and Danns will be sent out on loan anyway.
If no top class midfielder is available in January then that's another story. We'll just have to make due with Endo.
But I sincerely hope the club used the time between now and the summer to identify a list of players and have sounded out their respective clubs.
We've done it before, we signed Gakpo and Diaz in January and they certainly helped.
So it's not impossible.

I can see a lot of players wanting to join us in Jan.

Huge chance to win multiple trophies. City’s dominance broken with no guarantee they get back on top next year.

We are easily the most desirable club in England to join for those wanting success on the pitch but in the short and long term and unlike Klopp players don’t have to fear the training as much as they might have in previous years.

Agree. Though I don't see us splurging money until the contract issues are resolved. Would love a signing like Diaz which gave us an extra impetus during our first quad assault season. Preferably a solid midfielder.

Writing comments, opinions and rants on an obscure forum is nothing other than a form of expression. We can say we want X and Y, the club will do what it likes. I can say Hughes a lazy ass a million times it won't change anything.

We have gone into Jan several times without addressing our chinks in the armour and we paid for it. The press would address Klopp on this prior and he would say implicitly "There was no money, what the fuck am I supposed to do? You think if there was cash, I wouldn't spend it, you fucking dumb ass!".

Other than Trent, VVD and Salah I was quiet about transfers in the summer saying assessment and valuations need to be carried out. Its Jan, I know where I think we need to recruit and there arent options on the bench good enough. My worry is Grav is being over played, he is more or less playing every game and all of the match. A CDM is not top of my priority list but it would be nice to have.

My big concern iss with the defence, there aren't options on the bench that cover the weakness if anything it leaves us more exposed. Robbo and Quansah aren't good enough and Tsimikas is a squad option at best. If Konate was fit we would probably 4 points better off and we probably won't let in 8 goals in the course of 3 games either.
You know in my recent posts I kept banging on about the defence, we need better options.

The area we are definitely well stocked up on, is FWDs, yes we miss shed loads of chances but we keep scoring, we have only failed to score in one game that's against Forest.

So unless the club buys a LB/CB you will hear a lot more from me in Feb and it probably the same from @moron and @binomial

I swear you recommended Angelo Stiller, he looks decent. You got any good defenders you can recommend? The only guy I found that shares the same vibe as Konate is Bafodé Diakité but I can't see them letting him go for anything less than £50m

Hey @Modo. Does this kid remind you of Souness? he ain't on any radar of ours, that I am sure of. A summer signing that would cost £50-60+ I imagine. PSG bound or does Chelsea already own him?
I think I'm in love already after watching one video

I can see us signing Zubi. He was nearly ours and he has been lied to by his club (unless it’s bullshit he was meant to get a new contract which hasn’t appeared). If City want him in the summer, or anyone else, we would be fools not to swoop in now. Provided the club still want him.

Dude, I was about 2 years old when he left the club.

Zubi is a big risk... He will be homesick after 5 weeks. Let City take the risk on him. This French kid Bouaddi is the next big thing, fuck it and lets spend £60m on him in the summer...

I think he knows the grass is greener on this side. I would doubt Rodri’s Spain understudy is that much a risk.

That's no excuse. I only remember a few secs in my head and that might have been clips they showed of him in the 90s. I hope this helps

Football was different back then, its hard to compare him with modern players.
That being said, this Bouaddi kid looks great.
Obviously I'm just basing it on the compilation you posted but I definitely see why you're so impressed.
Only 17 years old and displaying that level of maturity in his game...amazing.
Again, it's a compilation so we're only seeing the highlights but the way he turns defence into attack and how he always keeps his head up and knows where his teammates are, that's on a different level.
The way he plays is very Gravy-esque.

There are some questions marks though
Will his game translate well to the high tempo English game. How good is he defensively? Is he a good in the air?
Will he be able to handle the physicality?

I bet a lot of clubs are monitoring him.

Yes, appaz us and obviously Chelsea along with a few others. Reading he is the next big thing out of France. We don't take high stake risks, so i am not going to hold my breath on us getting him. The Angelo Stiller kid, may be someone hughes might look at. As long as the Bouaddi kid doesn't go to Chelsea or any big english club (other than us), I wish him well.
If he ends up at Chelsea, then I hope he fades into obscurity.
Analysis on the kid. He is only 17 so the ceiling is high
