Well, he is on loan and our LB options are haphazard at the moment. We have been linked with Kerkez, none of us so called "crazies" have been banging on about him, asking "why he is not here yet?"
many in this forum are hankering for another FWD because we aren't converting enough (even though we have scored in every game bar one) but me pushing about addressing the defensive issues is crazy considering we let in 8 goals in 3 games.
If we don't reinforce at the back we will rue it come May
Would Konate and Bradley coming back after injury be considered “reinforcing”.
What I’m trying to get at is, you talk about reinforcing, but what are we reinforcing - a 5th choice CB, a 3rd choice LB a 7th choice forward a 3rd choice DM?
I think we need to be looking at long term replacements for Robbo & Endo - yiu can argue that you could add Tsimikas, Nunez and if you really want stick your neck out, Jota and possible Chiesa. (This is based on Trent, Virgil & Mo extending their stay).
I’m all for upgrading Endo right now - but not for the sake of it - he’s a good player and can offer us an option at DM if required.
What we need is the players who have underperformed in the first half of the season to hit form in the second - said this before - Mac A, Quansah, Nunez, Robbo & Chiesa - not a whole host of new players who may take time to integrate.
Again, I’m not saying, “don’t sign anyone”, but anyone we do sign either needs to be someone capable of quickly slotting in, picking up our patterns of play and performing at a higher level that what we have… or we’re signing possibly younger players we don’t expect to play.
More important for me, is Slot making use of all the resources at his disposal.
