Liverpool related transfer speculation

This Bouaddi kid isn't a 6 is he? More of a young Curtis Jones?

Anyway fun fact from Wikipedia. Apparently won an Eloquence Contest for the French academies when he was 15

Now way will he go for €30m, more likely €50m at least considering lenny yoro went for that price
But he’s not exactly been a roaring success, now, has he? Only mugs pay that much.

I think I'm allowed to be pissed off if we don't sign anyone despite what happened before.
Granted, we only have two injuries at the moment, but the injury bug can bite us at any time. You saw what happened last season.
We currently don't have any real cover for Gravy and Macca. At least not "like for like" replacements and I think Slot agrees because Gravy has almost played every game and Macca would have too if it weren't for the international fixtures.
It would be bordering on incompetence if we don't sign anyone this time around, considering what happened before when we've been in a similar position.
We really have a chance to push on and cement our position at the top of the league while staying competitive in the other competitions.
Why leave it all to chance? Again?!

And no, I'm not interested in an average midfielder. I have a feeling that Morton, McConnell and Danns will be sent out on loan anyway.
If no top class midfielder is available in January then that's another story. We'll just have to make due with Endo.
But I sincerely hope the club used the time between now and the summer to identify a list of players and have sounded out their respective clubs.
We've done it before, we signed Gakpo and Diaz in January and they certainly helped.
So it's not impossible.

Gakpo & Diaz are perfectly capable examples of speculative buys that were on our list and met our criteria.

We might get Zubi at the same price as the summer and if he actually wants to come - grand.

Cherki sounds plausible as one that popped up that we didn’t expect - maybe like that keeper.

I think you’re right, in a way - we’ll have been working on a list and identifying player, likely to primarily be for the summer onwards - movements will be made if any of those targets can be brought forward”.

What I don’t think we’ll do is “panic buy” and overpay or go after secondary players if our “primary” targets are not available.

I think Slot is the type of manager that would likely rather use his fringe players that’s he’s been drilling for 6 months that have to start from scratch mid-season on a new player… unless it was someone worth it.

Writing comments, opinions and rants on an obscure forum is nothing other than a form of expression. We can say we want X and Y, the club will do what it likes. I can say Hughes a lazy ass a million times it won't change anything.

We have gone into Jan several times without addressing our chinks in the armour and we paid for it. The press would address Klopp on this prior and he would say implicitly "There was no money, what the fuck am I supposed to do? You think if there was cash, I wouldn't spend it, you fucking dumb ass!".

Other than Trent, VVD and Salah I was quiet about transfers in the summer saying assessment and valuations need to be carried out. Its Jan, I know where I think we need to recruit and there arent options on the bench good enough. My worry is Grav is being over played, he is more or less playing every game and all of the match. A CDM is not top of my priority list but it would be nice to have.

My big concern iss with the defence, there aren't options on the bench that cover the weakness if anything it leaves us more exposed. Robbo and Quansah aren't good enough and Tsimikas is a squad option at best. If Konate was fit we would probably 4 points better off and we probably won't let in 8 goals in the course of 3 games either.
You know in my recent posts I kept banging on about the defence, we need better options.

The area we are definitely well stocked up on, is FWDs, yes we miss shed loads of chances but we keep scoring, we have only failed to score in one game that's against Forest.

So unless the club buys a LB/CB you will hear a lot more from me in Feb and it probably the same from @moron and @binomial

Look, here’s the thing - Tsimikas isn’t a shit player, he gets written off all the time, but whenever he gets a run of more than 3-4 games, he puts is solid performances - good defending and excellent crosses.

Robbo is a question of whether he’s just going through a bad patch or he’s done as a top level player - which given he’s 31 in March might suggest time has caught up with him.

I think we’re planning to sign a LB in the summer, probably Kerkez - if that’s the case, it’s a question of whether we can bring the transfer forward, or rather how much it would cost to bring it forward and whether we’re willing to.

It’s also utter nonsense we don’t have cover for Gravy - we do, his name is Endo - it’s up to Slot if he wants to use him or whether we feel like we can upgrade him in this window - Zubimendi would be an upgrade… but a younger player just cutting their teeth at somewhere top level isn’t going to be the right move now? - are they ready to come in and make a difference - I’m not so sure.

You know what - I’m sick of people writing Quansah off - he’s still classified as an U21 player, he was excellent last season, and his form has understandably dipped - but that doesn’t make him shit or mean he isn’t going to develop into a fine player - so I’m not do ready to chuck him on the scrap heap to sign someone else to be our 4th choice CB.

Again - I’m all for signing good players that could go straight into the team and make a difference - but not so sure on the need to sign players that aren’t going to be any better than the options we have.

@bluebell

I think I've found who we should sign. Never heard of this kid, but he seems to be quite good. Only 20 years old, I think he'd be a decent back up to Gravy.

I mean, what happened to Stefan? He played so well the season before, then last year was injured, then now he's been loaned out to an underperforming club.

Was it an attitude thing? I think we should get him back which leaves us cash to get defensive cover. Thinking back to when he played regularly under Klopp, hes actually reminding me of Gravy, with his ability to turn run and pick a pass. I dont remember hom ever having complete stinkers either.

I can see zubi going to City.

Wasn't an attitude thing. He missed a year of football due something related to his sudden growth ( "severe growing pains' is how they described it).

It might be tricky to convince someone like Zubi to join and compete with Gravy and Macca. I think he'd want to be regarded as the first choice option.
However, a younger player like Bajcetic would be a good option and based on what Slot has said in interviews about him, he actually rates the kid.
Like you said, we'd be saving some money as well. Problem is, Red Bull paid loan fee to get him, so it could be tricky to recall him especially now when he's starting to play well for them.

Our speculative buys are £2-4m and then we sell for £10-£15m or we release for free. There are two big mugs in world of football, Man U and Chelsea with two different outcomes.
Come summer, the kid will have a fleet of options to choose from. If it is €30m he is going Dortmund to develop his career. If its €50m+, its between Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid, Man City and if Barca get their finances they would be in the equation too.

Steve is at Salzburg till the summer. We have two back-up options as CDM, Endp and Morton. My personal belief is if we are looking to shore up the team in the final 20m, Endo should come on. Hopefully this would stop the onset of fatigue that follows every over used player and gives time for Endo to acclimatise to Slot's system.
We all know we are tight. the area of weakness is the defence. Will the club see that? Every time I see a reputable Journo linking us to a FWD I get worried. There has been very little talk of us recruiting a CB other than Loic bade and that was 6 weeks ago.

All this talk about who we hope the club get....will the club see that blah blah blah

Two summers ago, we needed to buy a midfielder and a million suggestions came up. In the end this club blithely ignored the generous wisdom of the internet and bid for five midfielders:

Alexis MacAllister
Ryan Gravenberch
Moises Caicedo
Romeo Lavia
Dominik Szoboszlai

So forgive me for saying this. I love reading everyone's suggestions but I really don't give a fk emotionally. I trust the club's scouting department to get it right 100%

If the club took suggestions from fans it would be worrying.... Klopp and team made brilliant signings but they also made blunders..
Naby
Ox
Melo
Davies
Karius
Adrian
I honestly would hate it if the club got a FWD and did not strengthen the defence

Need to put some respect on Big Schmad's name there

Hato looks very promising. An 18 year old who is an automatic starter for Ajax and full international, versatile enough to play in different positions. Should tick quite a few of Edwards’ boxes.
