It seems so, but then we are linked to JP like Buddha wrote.Only problem is I can't see slot ever wanting a bobby type player.
I also thought we were after a nine.

Sure. Best player since gerrard and barnesI’d rather a Suarez than a Firmino.
Let's assume Hughes has a list and I am willing to concede his list would have been created with far more in depth analysis then anyone in this forum would be able to create. My hope is he uses that list in Jan and gets a CB who can play LB or LB and CB. Konate may be back in Jan but for how long? Face it Robbo isn't good enough, I am not the only one saying it. I hope Hughes see it as well.
Quansah's issue is mental, and sending him out on loan could ease the mental burden as the stakes aren't so high.
If the club does not recruit a CB at least in Jan then we will find out towards May if that was the right decision.
I mean...who would disagree 🤣I’d rather a Suarez than a Firmino.
They are completely different players. I’d like to have someone who can break the low block by skinning two or three players. But leave out the biting shit.I mean...who would disagree 🤣
after winning the league, him and Trent looked like dears in head lights at times. In your view, if Konate was in the squad do we win the Newcastle and Fulham game? Gomez is a wonderful utility player but he suffers brain farts and did have injury issues of his own.I hear you - and I partly agree.
LCB is all about whether Virgil is extending his contract - there’s no point buying someone as a backup now and then having to buy another LCB in the summer because Virgil’s gone.
Sure - if we happen to come across the player that could potentially replace Virgil in the next 6 months and sign him January… great. .. so he can spend 6 months not playing.. because Virgil is.
It’s doesn’t matter a lot to me if Konate gets injured again… we’ve still got one of the best defences in the league with Gomez. Remember, we last won the league when he was Virgil’s main partner.
Since you’re in to causality… why is it our best league challenges happen when it’s Virgil & Gomez as our main CB’sand why would you want to replace either of them when it’s on???
As far as LB goes - ask yourself this - are we currently a failing team in need of drastic replacements at LB to save our season?
Or do you think, you know, arguably the best LB we’ve ever had might be given a little bit of leeway for 6 months to see if he can rediscover some form before binning him off?
Again - depends who’s actually signable this window as opposed to “anyone”!
We do and i don't get it unless he intends to turn pedro into a number 9. He doesn't use a false 9 like klopp did. He prefers a proper striker to lead the line so i don't see how cunha or pedro would fit into the team unless they played in the szoboslai role which i can't imagine either as that would require a lot more running and defensive work.We seem to be credibly linked to Joao Pedro and he’s a Bobby type too.
Fwiw, I’d love a Cunha / Pedro type in the squad.
We need to be realistic, mate.after winning the league, him and Trent looked like dears in head lights at times. In your view, if Konate was in the squad do we win the Newcastle and Fulham game? Gomez is a wonderful utility player but he suffers brain farts and did have injury issues of his own.
We know the club is limited in funds, we can both agree the attack can remain as it is until the summer. We agree a signing in Jan would be nice, I want that to be CB and or LB you want it to be a CDM. Hopefully @Modo does another post and it would be good to see how many want another LB

Life isn't "FIFA career mode" or "football manager", there's a lot to factor in. Like squad harmony, finances, timing etc.
I get it, you want a LB like many others here, but...the problem is we already have 3 in the squad Robbo, Tsimi and Gomez.
Yeah, our main one isn't playing at the same level he used to, but I believe that in those three there's enough quality for a successful season.
We're top of the league, top of the CL, still in all competitions, how do you think the rest of the squad will feel if we suddenly bring another one in?
Robbo will be fine as long as we manage his minutes.
I have and that's why we imo realistically should only sign a DM.You’ve just listed why we shouldnt sign Cunha.

Regarding squad harmony, I bet a majority of the players wouldn't mind if Darwin was replaced by Cunha.
Ali definitely wouldnt.
Still, Wolves would never let Cunha go now and theyd ask for silly money.
We can rebuild himOur game is built on pressing and working together. Cunha as a free floating 10 and zero work rate would see us lose that.
Doesnt suit us as a 10 and not good enough to be a 9.
It’s a mixture of under-the-radar signings and pretty well reported signings over time though eh? I’m sure we can all come up with examples of both so perhaps Pedro (who knows?) comes into the latter category…Have we been credibly linked to Joao Pedro? Generally, we dont announce our interest through the press this early.
Not a chance in hell. We have 5 forwards and even if one is out of favour he's still a £70m player and we're not going to send him to the reserves and then send him off to Italy for a £2m loan fee with us paying his salary. He'll go in the Summer and we'll replace him then.I think what’s most likely is that we move for Zubimendi or similar and that’s it.
If Kerkez is available it wouldn’t be beyond the bounds of probability that we sign him.
A number 9? Unlikely, but if there’s an opportunistic signing available then a squeak of a chance.
And a youngster or two, deffo.
Contracts…I think all three will sign.
If the plan is for him to go, then there's no reason why we wouldn't be "opportunistic" in the market as we usually are in Jan.Not a chance in hell. We’re not Man U.We might end up doing that anyway. I can’t see which team would give us tens of millions for him.
We just keep them till they leave on a free. We’re not Man U.
Guys, can someone who has watched him enlighten me... Can Dani Olmo play as a nine /false nine?
I’d say that us better than paying for his playing for someone else, I’d say.We just keep them till they leave on a free.

Chiesa would be the cheap failed gamble off on loan or the reserves in that scenario. Not a chance in hell.
