Leading us to the promised land?

People had similar doubts over sturridge, yet he's not exactly done badly for us.

Potentially a very good player

I think the committee have been playing a fine game, starting high then whittling away the 'top' targets until we reach a point where we are made up signing Victor fucking Moses.

I'd rather buy some quality than no one.

No one would have picked Moses over mkhitaryan, willian, or costa; but if we can get him at low cost (under 8m) I think we've done as well as can be expected for a team out of Europe

Well we'll have just wasted the same amount signing Aspas then. It's filling the squad with not quite good enoughs.

Moses is a good, quick, direct, powerful player who can play all across the front 4 and scores goals.
I would be ok signing him.
Still not enough though.

I like and rate him.

Much like Sturridge, Moses made a mistake going to Chelsea and would have a point to prove he can succeed at a big club.

You'd like to think our transfer committee have spent hours on end burning the midnight oil coming up with a plan of who to target then as soon as someone, anyone comes available they're like "Fuck it, he'll do."

It better be a loan to buy deal. I'm really not in favour of farming other teams players. Especially rival teams.
I'm all for getting Moses, he brings pace, goals and width.
I just hope that we're also signing a creative attacker in the Coutinho mould as well.

Agreed but its all relative so right now he would be right up there on my list. Plus the last Chelsea reject with a point to prove is working out quiet well no?

I was thinking, that we've done well with Chelsea rejects, until I remembered Mr short shorts.

He's a good signing and will improve us, the deal isn't worth it if there isn't a option price, and if he's our only incoming.

I think Rafa is doing a pretty good imitation in your avatar.

Yes, that was a beautiful moment when he sat down on the grass like that (before the penalty shoot-out vs Chelsea). Very un-Rafa like, which is why it was so striking. I think we won that shoot-out just because of this pose or rather the energy of calmness and acceptance that it communicated to the players.

If gods played in penalty shoot-outs, Buddha would always win.

If my memory serves me, I think Rafa said he sat down so the people behind him could see.

Don't you think it's quite unusual to think about the convenience of a few supporters in such high-pressure environment as Champs League semi-final penalty shoot out? Even if it's true, it only proves how calm Rafa was at that moment. He wasn't thinking about himself or winning and was just enjoying the atmosphere and letting it go. Such a contrast with young Mourinho who wanted to win so badly and couldn't stand the thought of losing to Rafa… We all know how it ended.

Meh, I'm just pissed off we've now sunk to Moses when our transfer budget is in profit. I'm sure he would be an improvement on Aspas but it's hard to swallow.

Agreed but keeping the money at this stage instead of splending on the wrong fit while still improving our attacking options is another good move from Rodgers.

He'll be a good addition, and as others have mentioned, he could have a Sturridge-like impact. Two caveats though: (1) We should have an option to make the loan permanent, otherwise we're just developing a player for Chelsea. (2) It should be Moses + others. The loan deal should free up funds for filling out the other important positions.

At this stage, Moses + centre half + centre mid represents a solid summer spending to me.

The Times - Liverpool have made an approach to sign Victor Moses on loan from Chelsea

If you can bring yourself to look past the fact that

a) he's a loan
b) he's not costing us $30M
c) he's not some fancy foreign name
d) he used to play for Wigan

Then you'll see he's a decent footballer. He scored 10 goals for Chelsea last season, most of them as a sub, all of them from the wing. He's got good feet, he's strong, reasonably quick, quite obviously can make an impact, is 22, and won't need 12 months to adapt.

I'd take him for sure.

Yep, if he was called Mosao or Mosinho then the fapping would commence.
