No one is claiming Shelvey wasn't reckless in this tackle either ... He went in hard with one foot and swung the other round. Evans went in with two feet. They should have both got the same lecture and/or punishment.

At full speed the ref would not have noticed Evans doing what he did, - Shelvey also had a follow up to his one where he almost sticks is other leg up Evan's arse.

Evans' lunge was worse than Shelvey's. but because he chickened out the ref missed it. Evans went in with both feet, studs showing. If you look at Shelvey again, reckless as it was, he only lead with one foot. The other foot followed soon after.

It's not just Lawro though who agreed with the ref was it ? - Freddie also agreed, and anyone with any sense would also agree after watching the game. I think most people on here are getting paranoid. Shelvey did a rash tackle earlier in the game before the sending off, and then did what he did and the ref was definitely going to book him so he had to go off. The ref did not get much wrong today.
