I'm clearly a sad square, as I participated neither in paid gratification of the flesh, nor chemical experiential enhancement (unless you include alcohol in that).
Kyiv was excellent
I have to say we didn't do lots of sight seeing, but did visit Dynamo Kiev's ground, and the park behind it, sat in a bar just opposite the revolutionary HQ, with the slogan Свобода – це наша релігія (Freedom is our religion) on the side … an experienced enhanced when we finally left and picked up the bill for 19 pints and one tea (our host. Oleksii, didn't drink) and it came to about £20! As we were so long at that bar, partly due to the beer & sun, partly due to the late arrival of a mate, we only got to Shevchenko Park as most people were leaving.
No need to mention the match.
The next day Oleksii took us to an open air exhibition centre which was like a massive park complex. There was a craft beer festival, but (luckily maybe) it didn't open til after we left. Admired the soviet style architecture there & at the university.
Oleksii, and his twin sons, were perfect hosts - his wife had just left for the weekend when we arrived, but had left a pot of borscht bubbling on the stove.
We flew in & out of the small airport (Juliana?) nearer the city (to/from Odessa) which was peaceful & laid back. I had expected chaos like Istanbul & Athens but this was sound … maybe worse at the big airport.
Other observations :
Vodafone tried to rip me off by charging €6 per megabyte data and €2 per text/call, despite me having the Red Connect contract (friends on a UK Vodafone contract seemed OK, but apparently Vodafone Ireland don't have a proper roaming agreement with Ukraine), so I got a local SIM with 6GB data and free national calls for £3, which sorted me
I usually don't use UBER as they are union busting wankers, but I did make an exception for this trip & it worked well .. even though our final driver seemed to enjoy swerving INTO all the potholes on the way to the airport

Our host's English was understandably not that good, but we managed OK. Until my mate, Mick, decided to tell him the joke about how he doesn't have a "sat nav" in his car, instead he has his wife or "sat nag".

Forgot to say - thanks @rurikbird for all the help & advice pre-trip. Very helpful …. more so even than your tactical analyses, though that's probably because I have the attention span of a goldfish
Didnt see much of the sights, just the city centre really before the match.
As has been said above, the women are actually the most beautiful things I've ever seen. The weather was amazing, the food and drink unbelievably cheap, and the people very friendly. Didnt see any trouble whatsoever.
I'd love to go back and see it properly.
