Klopp: this is my team now

He can talk the talk but hope he can walk the walk.
He will walk the walk.... He is a perfect character for managing us in the climate football is in today. He will stand up against cheap values and spend all his energy on proving that football is all about the bond between the club and the fans. And the fans will understand that the club is built on stronger values than money. I embrace the idea that both him and club has commited to this long term and I am 100% certain he will leave the project if owners change the mind and challenge him on values. That is walk the walk for me!

Very brave words, putting pressure on himself and the players from day one and with an extremely tough opening set of fixtures not sure how wish it is.
One thing you have to say is, he's the first manager in a long time to do so in his first full season and completely claim the squad as his after 2 transfer windows.

He needs a good start

Ballsy, honest, accepting responsibility, no hiding, no false promises. You can see why the owners, fans and players have complete faith in him.

Finally someone who doesn't say this is a 5 year project or looking for excuses..

Saying it as it is..

I'm excited about this season.

Top 4 and a Trophy [emoji471].. And that will be a successful season.

I would love it if he led us to the Prem Title.. But that's probably too ambitious..

We still need a playmaker in Midfield. Unless coutinho bulks up and drops back and becomes Alonso Mr Consistent like..

A left back is a must.. Milner as Good as a Utility player he is, is not the answer

OH YES THIS !!! - THE FUCKING 4-5 YEAR PLAN BOLLOX !!! Like Red - I can't wait for the season to start - more so to just see Klopp jump and run in his area pumping his fist when we score !!!!

He started his Liverpool career off with bold words, remember him predicting a title in his first press conference?

Jurgen certainly isnt playing Mr Niceguy anymore..... Im lovin the steelyness he seems to have this preseason.

Basically you work your ass off for this team or you will be out.... The way it should be!

Deffo looks like hes got Sturridge, Coutinho etc on board too.... I think we can challenge this year.

It really does not matter that much he has said what he has said its the fact that he said what we want to hear and what we expect from our team that really counts highly. Even though we did quite badly last season i enjoyed most of the games and the high pressing. You felt the team was going for it and trying their best. Some of the games like Norwich and the celebrations that followed were great to see.

That sentence provokes violence in me. Its amazing.

The sort of violence where you scream at someone to shut up, and carry on screaming as you drive their head into the pavement.

Was gonna say. Elephants can really shift once they get up to full speed. He'd probably be ahead for the first ten yards, but that'd be it.

As an aside, why do elephants paint their bo11ocks red? So they can hide in cherry trees.
Have you ever seen an elephant in a cherry tree ? Didn't think so.

Shows how well it works.

Really ? - with a username like dantes - you should calm down a little, and be more civilized but then again 6CM can drive you to madness as much as an ISIS video.

Judge - yes he did say 4 years - but of all the managers - you could tell in his tone he was thinking "4 years ? - fuck that I am gonna try and do it this season...". Klopp does not strike me as someone with patience to wait 4 years for a title.

Didn't he say it would take 4 years though?
Uh-oh four year plan? I think it was actually three, within the length of his original deal.

Makes no difference mind, he predicted in his first press conference that his new team would lift the league title under him - something that the last seven managers had failed to do. I would still say that is a very bold claim indeed.

This maybe his team now but it's not good enough. The defense is still a massive concern.

It is, but to me that's no bad thing. It radiates confidence and sets a high standard at the same time.

I'm pretty sure he did say four years BTW. He does have a three-year deal at the moment and that's why it struck me that he'd referred to four rather than three. To me that was a pretty clear signal that he wants to be here for the long haul.

Elmar Neveling, Klopp’s biographer, tells the tale of how Klopp apparently used Balotelli’s behaviour as an example to his Borussia Dortmund players in the past.

Neveling wrote in Jurgen Klopp: “When the subject of Italy forward Mario Balotelli, who while at Manchester City threw a dart at a youth-team player, came up, Klopp didn't mince his words: if one of his players pulled a stunt like that 'they would never wear this club's shirt again.

“He wont get a second chance to make a mistake like that: 'Look, you might be able to play, but I don't want to see your face again. Not when we've got so many lads who are a joy to work with.'”

I agree, I love that kind of confidence - we've been too brittle too long.

Klopp and his assistants signed a six-year deal at the beginning of July, by the way, which is an even bigger sign that he wants to be here longterm!
