He's gone out from 8/13 to 6/5 to sign for us, just ahead of Spurs at 6/4.

He's staying in London innit.

I miss Didi.

As for Joe Cole, id love him to come, but think it highly unlikely that 'arry won't wring a few more quid out of the board & cole drop his demands a little to make it work.

someone said earlier in the thread, this Cole business is most strange , it is not being conducted on rumour , but through the bookies

It's strange how 90% of football forumites seem to think defending is a relatively unimportant part of football.

So does Garth Crooks when you look at his absurd team of the week selections.
[/quote]

Absurd is Crooks' middle name. I'll bet he whistles on the loo to remind himself which end to clean.

Heard anything new Buddha? Joe is dragging this on forever, guess no one is prepared to cave in to his wage demands.

Hahahaaa, I can't believe that his medical is taking so long or that this thread is still open!

The conspiracy theorist in me suggests that he may have taken money from the bookies, so they can milk this for a prolonged period of time. He actually may have already made up his mind.

Paddy Power today suspended betting on Joe Cole’s next club following a flood of bets on the ex-Chelsea player moving to Liverpool.
Liverpool had been available at odds of 11/2 to be Cole’s next club on Saturday morning but was backed into just 7/4 after numerous lumpy bets were wagered. The bookie then suspended betting when the slashing of odds failed to stem the tide.
Tottenham had been the bookie’s favourite since betting opened, but the Liverpool plunge was the first significant move in the market.
Paddy Power said, “We’ve raised the white flag and it looks like good news for Liverpool fans. It was a very quiet market that suddenly sprang to life and scores of bets were placed one after the other at all odds between 11/2 and 7/4. Money usually talks in markets like this and it’s shouting louder than a vuvuzela!â€

Liverpool FC close in on Joe Cole signing as bookies suspend betting

Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole is now odds-on to join Liverpool this summer
Oddspreview staff - 17 Jul 2010
Liverpool are odds-on to sign England midfielder Joe Cole after support from punters on Saturday that saw one bookmaker suspend betting on the market

As of 17:30 BST on Saturday, Liverpool were 8/15 with Sky Bet (from 6/5 on Friday and 4/6 earlier on Saturday) to sign Cole on a free transfer before the transfer window closes on September 1st.

Oddspreview readers who open an account today with Sky Bet can exclusively claim a completely free £5 bet with no deposit required. If you open an account with the Harrogate-based firm, you will also be entitled to a further £5 free bet, providing you place a single £5 bet. Plus, once you have placed a further 4x£5 bets, Sky Bet will give you another £5 free bet!

Former Chelsea man Cole is 7/4 (from 6/4) to team up with Harry Redknapp Tottenham and out to 11/4 (from 9/4) to join Arsenal after support for a move to the Emirates faded last weekend.

Irish bookmaker Paddy Power (£100 free bet) suspended bets in their Joe Cole next club market on Saturday afternoon after a flurry of bets on Cole joining Liverpool.

This is the weirdest transfer ever, it's all done through the bookies. Some cabbies are making a lot of money..

"I'm not a betting man so I don't even know it means to suspend betting but I know Cole is a good player looking for a club and it's pleasing that he's being linked with us but nothing to report." - Roy Hodgson.
