Bloody hell, the way people bang on about Roy Hodgson's man management skills needs to take a rest on here. Sometime's a player is just shite and an arm around the player won't help too much.

I don't expect Roy to perform miracles and turn Lucas or Babel into world beaters just yet. Something's bound to give in. Roy apparently didn't get on too well with Roberto Carlos durinng his time at Inter. Not all players will flourish under him.

Yeah, man management is important but people are quite making a wankathon out of it.

Based on reports of Cole's wage demands I'd rather we politely tell him to faak owf!

I want players who first and foremost want to play for Liverpool rather than greedy little pieces of shit with ideas above their station.
 
It seems as if Joe Cole is being badly advised by his agent. He needs to moderate his wage demands a lot if clubs are going to start taking a genuine interest.

I'm not sure they will actually. I should think he'd have take a deep breath and humbly accept 85-95k a week at a decent club.

I do hope he's able to survive on such a pittance.
 
It won't be just the amount of money that is putting potential clubs off, it's the effect on the morale of the dressing room if a new player, possibly past his best, comes in on a much bigger wage than the rest are getting.
 
Perhaps he's too thick to understand that 80K per peek in Liverpool is the equivalent of more than 100K in Lahndan.

What does he do exactly that makes him an amazing signing? His stats are comparable or worse than Benayouns, other than that he isn't fit half the time.

Stats aren't everything though, so why doesn't someone let me know what I'm not seeing in him. He picks the ball up in space, looks to dribble, isn't particularly fast, once in a while will go by a player and look brilliant, the rest of the time he'll be somewhere between good and frustratingly lacking in end product. His finishing is erratic, and not that great. He is less willing to help out defensively than Yossi.

I haven't seen him in his best form, which still isn't that great, for two years now.
