I'm feeling the love in here and it's nice. I gotta warn you that I signed up to a couple of other LFC boards recently and got banned within about 8 posts. I didn't go out of my way to offend anyone or anything but it seemed that being capable of independent thought wasn't acceptable within their terms of use.

On the plus side, this place seems well more like it. I mean I haven't seen any blind hero worship on any level. Compared to the other places it's like a board of Liverpool Agnostics.

Yeah RAWK. You know if I wake up feeling all happy and balanced and stuff, but deep down I want to be a malcontent whining miserable bastard, what I do is go and look at the top three topics on there and within minutes I'm sorted.

Yeah, when I work out the buttons and stuff I'll put a caveat in my sig that says that pretty much anything I say and do is a) not very serious and b) subject to change at the drop of a hat.

Giant pinch of salt, it's form the Daily Fail;

The falling price of Cole: Why Joe’s dream of a pay bonanza at Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool or Tottenham looks doomedBy Matt Lawton Chief Football Correspondent

A fortnight into becoming one of the most high-profile free agents in the history of English football, Joe Cole is still looking for a club.
He has had plenty of suitors - understandably so, given how gifted he is. Wayne Rooney considers Cole the closest thing England has to a Brazilian, but his astronomical wage demands seem to be putting off those suitors. For now, at least.

Sportsmail understands that clubs have been staggered by the price Cole appears to have put on his own head. He told Liverpool he wanted to command the same salary as Steven Gerrard - believed to be in the region of £120,000 a week - having rejected their offer of closer to £80,000 a week.
Little impact: Cole failed to impress at the World Cup against the likes of Germany
He told Tottenham something similar, even after engaging in what were said to be positive discussions with Harry Redknapp.

Tottenham's manager has adored Cole since their days together at West Ham, but seven years at Chelsea seem to have made him too rich for the blood at White Hart Lane.

Sir Alex Ferguson has long been an admirer of Cole. He would demand an update on the young player's progress whenever he encountered Redknapp.

But now an opportunity has presented itself to sign Cole, who is only 28 and has just appeared in a World Cup, Ferguson has also distanced himself. Manchester United went so far as to brief journalists that Cole was not on their list of transfer targets this summer.

Arsene Wenger remains taken with the idea of recruiting Cole, recognising that his skill and versatility would suit Arsenal's style of play. But again, an agreement has not yet been reached because the price is too high. Even for someone on a free transfer.

Old friend: Both Harry Redknapp (left) and West Ham want a reunion with Cole
Cole and his advisers clearly think his Bosman status gives him the right to ask for the kind of money Roman Abramovich just wasn't prepared to pay him to stay at Stamford Bridge. Because he is 'unattached', he wants a giant signing-on fee as well as a major salary.

But Cole needs to be careful, because he runs the risk of pricing himself out of the kind of move that someone of his quality should be targeting: if not a club competing in the Champions League this season, then a club that would hope to be among that kind of company in the near future.
He no doubt looks at someone like Sol Campbell and sees how lucrative it can be if you are a free agent. Campbell went from Tottenham to Arsenal and then to Portsmouth on huge money.

But it might also be worth studying the example of Michael Owen, who having made the mistake of moving from Real Madrid to Newcastle, finally realised it had to be about more than just cash.

When the opportunity presented itself to go to United, Owen accepted a significant pay cut to play for the then English champions under the finest manager of a generation.

Not in the same league: Lampard and Terry were valued higher at Chelsea
Sadly for Owen - and indeed United - it has not yet worked out, and the hamstring injury he suffered in the Carling Cup final was so serious it could trouble him for the remainder of his career.

But at least he showed ambition. At least, after the years of frustration and disappointment that followed his departure from Liverpool, he gave it one last crack for all the right reasons.

According to sources, the best offer Cole has so far - close to six figures a week - comes from the club where he started. But is West Ham the right choice when Cole, with respect to those already at Upton Park, should be aiming higher?

Even a decent offer from a more illustrious club might be one he should reject if there is a danger he could spend more time on the bench than he perhaps anticipated.

Cole has had a good run. He played far more games than he missed at Chelsea and became a regular member of the England side under Sven Goran Eriksson and Steve McClaren. But he does seem to be making the mistake of thinking he's better than he actually is.

Example: Owen had a mixed season, but Cole could do worse than follow his lead
For a start, he considered himself worthy of a contract comparable to those awarded to John Terry and Frank Lampard, much to the amazement of his employers at Chelsea.

He made only two appearances as a substitute at this World Cup, and on both occasions failed to make the impact Fabio Capello wanted. He has also suffered for the past year or so with serious injuries.

For that reason, he needs to consider all the factors. Would he command a regular place at Arsenal, or even Tottenham? Or would he be better off heading for somewhere like Liverpool? They would welcome him with open arms should Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres leave Anfield this summer.

Apparently, Cole would prefer to stay in London and - only a few months since he and his wife had their first child - that is understandable.

But should he decide that no English club can afford what he feels he deserves, he may yet be tempted by a move abroad, with both AC Milan and Valencia reportedly interested.

Wherever he decides to go in the next few weeks, Cole is undoubtedly facing the biggest decision of his career. And not just because, as a stellar free transfer, it is time to cash in.

Cole might think he is holding the golden ticket, but he has to make sure it is a ticket to the right destination.

Pinch of salt? There's nothing here that I have any trouble believing.

I can't believe there is any fuss being made at all about Joe fucking Cole. He's not that great. Part of why I've never had any interest in buying him, is because I assumed we'd have to pay out the ass. He'll cost more than Yossi in wage demands, play half as much, and he just isn't any more productive when he does play.

He's got the stupid English surcharge, which given the abandonment of the 6+5 rule, is a complete waste. His names are good old fashioned ones, and he can dribble a ball, and sometimes it's not a complete waste of time! Let's pay out our ass for him then watch as the media covers him as if he's relevant, or a superstar.

I'm now 99% sure he'll go to Spurs. Redknapp made a very clever speech about him in the papers today.

If he goes to West Ham, he'll be a laughing stock.

I don't think so tbh. That speech Redknapp made, sounded like a plea to Cole so that he would change his mind. Thats how I read it at least.

Redknapp has really got his trousers down by his ankles on this one. I can't say that I blame him, Joe Cole is an amazing signing.

Roy hasn't said anything, that could be good news of course..

There may be something in what Hansern has said there. LFC have been very quiet on this one - normally there would be some sort of denial but the silence is deafening. Seems we are definitely in for him. Fingers crossed.

The Spurs fans thinks he'll join us, the Liverpool fans think he'll join Spurs.

He'll end up at Arsenal then, were the fans are a bit meh about signing him...

Is Joe Cole my version of Rosco and Keane?

What does he do exactly that makes him an amazing signing? His stats are comparable or worse than Benayouns, other than that he isn't fit half the time.

Stats aren't everything though, so why doesn't someone let me know what I'm not seeing in him. He picks the ball up in space, looks to dribble, isn't particularly fast, once in a while will go by a player and look brilliant, the rest of the time he'll be somewhere between good and frustratingly lacking in end product. His finishing is erratic, and not that great. He is less willing to help out defensively than Yossi.

I haven't seen him in his best form, which still isn't that great, for two years now.

Of course they are meh. They've seen one or two far more accomplished attacking players in recent memory, and thus aren't wowed when someone does three stepovers and then goes on a long dribble sideways before laying the ball off to a CM.

Pretty much sums up my feelings about this signing. I'd further add that he wasn't even good enough to start in a very poor England team.
