Is fourth place definitely gone?

City seem to be shit at the minute

If we could get our act together...

No Mark! Don't fall in to the hope grave

Exactly. Don't.

Next thing you'll be thinking... "If Utd beat City, and they drop a couple of points at home to Villa..." etc etc. They might drop some points, but 1) not enough for us to catch them and 2) we'd have to win the rest of our games - which won't happen.

Let's focus all our hope on the FA cup (or not, depending on if you want us to win it) and let that strike another killing blow to our hearts instead of the league.

It wont happen but City seem to be falling apart at the moment. 2-1 loss to Palace tonight.
Could be 4 points by next Monday up to top 4. Wont happen but it will give us something to play for the last 6 league games.

Sort of changed from United to City now. Assuming United beat City next week and we do beat Newcastle at home, as Hansern mentioned, we'll be four points off with six games to go.

So do we pull for Man U to beat Man city now then seeing as they are the closest?

What a shit season it's been... really really shit.

We've been doing this for 10 years, watching other matches, hoping for result but city's loss tonight made me perk up. 6 points from those two games, and If my aunt had a deep voice..

United are still going to be the one we can catch .. their run-in is still the toughest and they could feasibly lose the next three (H - City, A - Chelsea and A at a revived Everton).

Hendo and Sterling contract wrangle. Dressing room tensions. A manager who's beginning to lose the trust of his team. A misfit (Balo) who doesn't give a shit anymore and is openly disrespecting his manager and teammates. Leaky defense. Struggling to pass, let alone create chances and score. Various players off-form.

Win 7 on a trot ?

Yeah right. Lol.

A lot depends on the next couple of games. We got knocked down, but we're not quite knocked out. If we get a good result and performance against Blackburn and then Newcastle, the belief could return.

A couple of wins can change a lot. There are good and bad times every season. Every team always has misfits and various tensions in the squad, but winning papers over any cracks.

I have seen nothing in the last 4-5 games to suggest anything remotely that we can bounce back immediately.

The players seem to play as if they've developed a phobia for Brendan's 3-4-3 system overnight and are absolutely clueless how to play otherwise when teams press us.

Mate, no offence but you're the Dilbert of the forum. I'd lay odds that when the Dude saved the last peno from Shevchenko in Istanbul you were waiting for the ref to order a retake. Give yourself a break from it, for pity's sake!

Did you watch Everton v City last season? If we are to get back in the top four it will not be through the help of Everton

United are not City .. Everton hate them (and Rooney) as much as we do ... and we are not title contenders this season. They will want to beat United, 100%.

I'm not sure Everton are capable of playing any better than they currently are, whether they hate a team or not.

Haha and I'd argue that people should give themselves a break from the hope and the ultimate let down. There's two ends of the spectrum. Sadly, my approach has been justified more often than not in recent years.
