This felt like the most in control of a game we’ve been in all season. We lost concentration at the end leading to the consolation, but mostly immaculate up until then.
The whole defence was incredibly effective on the ball, and our positioning and recovery against any breaks was great.
Szobo & Gravy really helped us to pick the lock of the Ipswich defence.
Diaz was mostly anonymous when playing through the middle. He just doesn’t know this role and it’s clear.
Lovely clinical finishes from Gakpo - 2 shots, 2 goals. And also a perfect cross for his assist.
Mo’s goal was solid. And his footwork was mesmerising at times, but he let himself down not passing soon enough in some key areas.
Overall we felt more clinical, and it was great to get a game won in the first half.
Oh and another win for old faithful, my 1996 home shirt.
